Do people really favor an FFXI grindfest format?

just throwing this out there... there was this little thing in FFXI called Assault and it was awesome. This is what I thought leves were going to be like. This is what I HOPE the new dungeons will be like.

I already knew leves were going to be field of valor style since XI became a XIV testbed between 2007-2009, but they threw out everything XI did in the end beyond the fov system.
