You, my friend, are extremely optimistic. I'll feel much better myself if the market prices on my server recover from the current slump.
In any case, the prices will eventually be lower, one way or another.
so imma just throw this out and haters keep hateing...
back down memory lane i played dark age of camelot. no llife just school and DAoC. they released the housing idea in middle of the school day and by the time i got home there was not a single plot left. it took me almost a year before i could find one open up. That said, i see where yoshie is coming from. this is something special for those fc who are willing to put forth the effort and not blitz out all the plots moments servers go live. it sux, i know but come a month from now the prices will go down and keep going down and in 3 months every tom dick and harry will have a house. been here done it had the t-shirt. like he said there is other stuff, i was looking at housing also, but in the time i farm extream mode primals for 4 classes and pvp ill have money for and fc will also. in a few months every one will be griping as there wont be anything left and its too cheap... sit and watch...
When i saw the price i just could not believe it. This is a joke. I'm sooo disappointed by the game. And it will be without me.
Idk what its like in other world but with FC and LS sell Titan and Coil kills you would think 300mil its anything. I think once people start crafting and I hate to say it "earning gil" and not buying it everything will settle out. This isn't FFXI where the games been running for year's. It's been online since August and it seems everyone want's to finish it now. i like the idea of having something to work towards. Maybe this will keep me playing longer than the 5 year's i played FFXI and quit after i got my relic weapon.
This thing call instance zones was invented, and the price of server cost became pennies. technically speaking you get more serer power and room for every dollar a month on an entire server then a zone in DAoC era.so imma just throw this out and haters keep hateing...

While asset cost have sky rocketed, server cost has plummet. and that frankly is why they should be making housing cheaper, not more expensive.
Again with white knighting failed logic.
MMO today are very competitive, and SE shows exact what it means to be all bark and no bite. Housing and land ownership is not a new thing, and shows how green horn the ARR development team still is.
Also a fairly bad argument. Crafting does not make that much gil just like titan selling doesn't make that much gil. The market and gil circulation of 2.0 doesn't allow for it.Idk what its like in other world but with FC and LS sell Titan and Coil kills you would think 300mil its anything. thanks for the answer, however, if you allow me, this don't answer anything... i means, why a feature of the game, must have a different price from a server to another? it's something really really really bad, it will hurt the game far more than RMT....Greetings everyone,
First off, we'd like to thank you for all of your feedback thus far, and as usual, we're working to get it all collected and delivered to the dev. team. That said, last night our counterparts in Japan hosted a live patch notes reading for those that might not want to read the full wall of text. Yoshida joined in to offer commentary on specific aspects, and we'd like to share what was said regarding the pricing for the Free Company housing.
Discrimination of people because of them server economy is simply the worst way to solve the trouble of the gils...
if Square-Enix are soo bothered by the gil sleeping on the legacy server.... get ride of it! but don't punish people that haven't a huge amount of gil on legacy server!
a feature of the game must be the same for everybody! wherever is them character, that as simple than this... inequality will not serve Final Fantasy 14 A realms reborn.... but simply hurt it really hard.
They are extremely upset. Here's a link with over half a million views: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...81%BE%E3%81%99
The translation of the thread title? "The Price of Land is too high."
I know of one - one - legacy player on my server who claims to have a very large amount of money (far more than he could have brought over from 1.0, given the gil slash that happened) that he primarily earned selling tomestone items at obscene prices most legitimate players could not have paid. Most of the legacy players I have spoken with have very little. To answer your question- I don't think the new players saved up that amount.
Although, I know some Legacy players have even more gil than 40mil left over from 1.0.
While it is expensive, it should not be too much of a problem if everyone works together. ^^
It's a huge problem, whether you believe it to be or not. For new players like myself, in an FC primarily filled with new players who have very little gil, it's a huge problem even if we work together. We already were working together and at our current rate of savings it would take us five years to afford the smallest, worst plot of land. This is a huge issue.
the problem here is that SE implemented FC HOUSES before personal houses.....thats lame ...
first implement individual house so ppl can enjoy the system ,after every1 is enjoying their houses.....implement FC houses , that are huge
But no , now we have to trust the FC leader , put hard earned gil on HIS/HER hands in order to buy a house
i guess only the FC leader is able to build the house ? right?
But i could care less about housing (tired of it in other games)...feel sorry for ppl interested on it
Just considering the reddit FC chart further:
PBC has 512 members, which is 6x more than my FC with 85.
They've complied 25mil, which is 10x more than my FC has with 2.6mil.
This means they've collected nearly double the amount per member than we have, yet can only afford a small plot. They are less than 10% to buying the largest best plot, while we are just over 10% to buying the smallest worst plot.
Considering we have around 20 active members, they likely have around 120 (they had 37/512 on last night at 11pm PST, so that sounds about right). Is SE seriously expecting 120 people to use a house the size of an inn room?
Was there no safety? No learning by heart of the ways of the world? No guide, no shelter, but all was miracle, and leaping from the pinnacle of a tower into the air?
