Matsume, I did agree with some points you have made through this thread, but I kind of have to stand with others that sitting there playing with numbers is not exactly a challenge. Getting a team of 24 to work together in Crystal Tower . . . THAT is going to be a challenge. Anyone who is even vaguely familiar with retail know far better than to think that doing the same thing in an MMO is anything but being casual and not really participating in content.

I have all i90 allagan/AF+1 BiS on my whm except for the head, earrings, and bracelets (which i have enough myth tomes to buy). I have been one shotting turns 1-4 for two months. So believe me, I've participated in my fair share of content. Maybe even, a wider selection of content than you?

Oh, I never claimed to be high and mighyt, nor do i pretend to be a badass that works at wall street. I don't need your respect either, you obviously don't believe what I have to say despite not having a reason to call me a liar. You say my credibility has been lost because I ventured to speculate that I was the best geared gatherer on my server for a few weeks. Well, it was my honest opinion based on me examining every other gatherer I came across while farming unspoiled resource nodes for hours on end. Believe me, I got a good look at the majority of the early gatherers and I rarely saw one with as much materia in their gear as I had. But look at you, so quick to discredit me and call me a liar because I shared an honest opinion.

Okay, well to me, someone looking for an "official source" to justify an opinionated claim over a video game is just as much of a troll as trying to defend the semantic challenge of earning gil on that same game. Look man, all I'm saying is: I've earned XX amount of gil since Early Access, and you could have to. If I have enough to buy a house, then you could have to. Everything else is meaningless. If you don't like the price of the house don't pay for it. If everyone feels like you, the prices will drop. That's all.

Do you think it's worth all the work you've done in gathering your fortune to put it down on a premium 'Small Lot' As you said, you can't personally afford another, larger lot. Do you mind putting in a large sum of your gil towards a big home...even if everyone else matched that same sum. Are you going to do it? Go in with others on the Big House?

That's about as meaningful as "Bill Gates have made $50 billion, so you could have too."

While theoretically correct, trying to imply that everyone could've done so, especially at the same time, could not be more wrong. Everyone on the server could not have made as much money as the top earners, that would require people making more money than exists in the entire system.

It's kinda like the GOP from awhile back saying that if only people would get off their lazy asses, they can all join the 1%, which for anyone who's not mathematically challenged, knows is impossible.

Exactly...and I'm not spending gil...nor is anyone I know in game spending gil on this anytime soon. Why? BECAUSE WE KNOW THE PRICES ARE ABSURDLY HIGH AND NOT WORTH IT. As do you. So coming in here, bragging about what you personally can or can't afford when you yourself aren't willing to spend that kind of gil on this content atm or ever is kinda stupid isn't it. You agree the prices are not worth your gil, but you wanna argue that the prices are okay? Say what?

So the 'gil sink that was supposedly going to happen won't. Why? Because the people SE is trying to drain are sitting on their gil piles looking down on the peasants below laughing...and No Gil is being spent/leaving the economy. So why doesn't SE cut the crap, and START the housing at prices that WILL entice folks like you, me and everyone else to WANT to buy them. All the sudden gil WOULD be spent, and gone...but no, they'd rather tick everyone off, force most people out of either choice,principle or poverty to wait at least another 3 months before they consider investing in this content.

So yeah, if the plan was 'have no one buy a house until at least March 2014...SE's plan worked... if it was as you suggest, to get rid of 'excess server gil' and then allow everyone else their turn...well no one's buying.
