QFT. Only thing I can think of to add is a HQ weapon. Are you fighting mobs of too high level? Level difference is the overwhelming modifier in the calculations to hit/miss.
Are you using a rank appropriate weapon? Is it in need of repair?
Use Life Surge before you engage. Use Comrade in Arms, too.
You only need DEX up to about 80-100 points. After that it doesn't make much of a difference.
Other than that, you may just only be thinking you are missing more than you actually are.
Stick it in my Balmung.

And Still Precision and Hawk's Eye. Definitely open with Comrade In Arms and use Full Thrust to max your TP return per hit. Lancer is all about TP gain.
Speed Surge > Full Thrust (twice if needed) > Comrade In Arms > Full Thrust (5 or 6 times to max TP Bar) > Twisting Vice > Skull Sunder > Heavy Trammel > Skewer > Full Thrust (3 or 4 times to hit 2k+ TP) > Hawks Eye > Ferocity > Bloodbath > Doomspike > Death > Next mob.
Rinse and Repeat.
And that is without using Invigorate.
Lancer is awesomesauce.
Abyss: Welcome to a Higher Quality of Nerding™

Hmm with Invigorate II you dont need Full Thrust at all and you can get max TP in less hits running it and Lite does more damage. Though this is for NMs, I dont really remember the last time I soloed something on my Lancer aside from low rank NMs and I still found Lite to be of better use then Full, other stuff shouldn't require that much work to kill Twisting Vice, Heavy Trammel, and then Skull Sunder or Concussive Blow II (what I use now instead of Skull Sunder even with the increased TP amount, but really any 3rd Weapon Skill should suffice) is usually enough to take out any non NM mob with a few normal hits as long as it isn't something crazy like an Ogre. But everyone has there own style. And Still Precision and Hawk's Eye. Definitely open with Comrade In Arms and use Full Thrust to max your TP return per hit. Lancer is all about TP gain.

I do have to say Lancer is the worst of the classes I have played. Pugilist is much better.

If you want a bad class i suggest you go try marauder.... Lancer is awesome it can pull a bit too much hate because of self buffs but thats a problem with how hate is calculated not with Lancer it self.

I should have been more specific. I mostly play solo, and I think the Lancer class is lacking. I did the "The Wights' Stuff" leve last night and got destroyed as a Lancer. I have done the same leve as a Pug of the same rank (20) and had no problems defeating the wights. Hopefully the auto-attack will help but I'm not overly optimistic about it.

Well Pugilist was designed to be a dd/tank class and lancer is designed to be a dd/support class so it isnt any surprise that pugilist is better at soloing. Especially on Skeletons which are weak to blunt damage.I should have been more specific. I mostly play solo, and I think the Lancer class is lacking.
