Pressing the Windows button on the keyboard in full screen mode crashes the game

I made this bug report on behalf of a friend of mine that recently started playing FFXIV and got disconnected from a guildleve and failed it as a result of pressing one button on the keyboard. The mod moved it here for discussion and now you white knights are embarrassing the entire community by defending A BUG because you get off to Square Enix. You should think about what you post and the consequences of it, because this isn't some random forum where you can voice your stupid opinion with no consequences. Every time one of you fails to support something that improves the game for newcomers you are making Square Enix a stupider company for listening to your feedback.

Where did I say in my post that I supported any bugs to stay in the game again pointed out that they tried to correct said issue with the windower mode because people complained in 11 that they would not be able to stay in game and go off to check out other things on their computer. Thus was the reason why the hacked windower came out then SE themselves implimented it into the first FFXI. Now they automatically included windower mode in this game without having to wait years for their customers to complain and whine about it. And quite honestly I'd rather use windowed mode instead of the full screen but then again to each their own.

A windowed mode was added to FFXI not because people complained, but because they wanted to be able to run the game in a window. Running the game in a smaller window was not possible prior to that update. Anyway this thread is a bug report, so you mentioning the windowed mode is presumably to dismiss the bug? It's a non sequitur. Why don't you post something more along the lines of

A) I'm irrational and I want this bug to be in the game
or
B) Yes, this is a bug. Please fix it dev team.

Really people just don't have the self-control to not whine about seeing criticism that they've already seen. Thus, they end up getting stuck defending ridiculously stupid causes like the game forgetting its own display settings if the computer doesn't perpetually hold its hand.

Human behavior.. alas. These ungrateful mofos should be thanking the mod that saw fit to draw more attention to this bug instead of making fools out of themselves.

Actually you're mistaken, this was announced back in 2007 and SE did put it in due to complains and players constantly asking for it.

At the Final Fantasy XI Premier Site Summit today, the Vice President of Community Relations of FFXI announced that they have confirmed that they will soon be implementing and making available the option to run Final Fantasy XI in Windowed mode without the use of any illegal third party programs. However, no specific timeline or time-table for the implementation was available.

The additional features comes after vocal support and demand by the community (YOU) to allow a built-in window mode option, announcing to the Premier Community Sites that the FFXI Team hear your requests and opinions and have responded.

As to bugs, if there is a bug or issue that is affecting the way the game should be run it should be voiced and fixed by the team. Obviously the more the bug affects the game the larger the priority it should be therefore some bugs will take longer to fix, but at least said bugs have been noted by the dev team.
