This is not just a response to the lack of responses. lol.

If you are "looking into this" along with the rest of the 2000 things you're currently looking into... Maybe a forum "restructure" is needed.

(They are not productive in their current state)
mostly due to obvious troll/fanboy/retarded reasons.

We are getting little to no feed back about what is being implemented. The forums are awash with troll and drama posts. I personally only bother with this site because of the reps - And even they are unable to give deffinative answers. ("we will look into this/this is not planned")

I've read the 1.18 "make or break" drama. I've looked at the job class=/=weapon drama. Ive seen the issues about jump and map collision, the balancing of classes issues, the "meaningless stat" problems. Lack of interesting maps, lack of exploration and general challenges. No story. Poor and engaging story issues. What to do about zones containing r1~90 mobs. And lack of aforementioned races and classes that will be "in game".

    Everything
They are ultimatly doing nothing for the "betterment" of XIV.

IM AM IN NO WAY STATING YOU SHOULDNT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BITCH.
    AT ALL.

In my personal opinion. I would do away with OVER-STATED opinions on this forum and keep things to a "what works" and "what doesnt work" approach. (irony i know..)
SE are a decent team of a developers, and at their best, they are an amazing team. (<<We all know what I'm talking about here)

So, in conclusion to this varied and random rant.
(As we all know.) This game is going to take time.
This "forum" and its contribution to the future of the game we all care soso much about (irony again*) needs to be about 9000 times more productive than its current state.
Cus to be fair most the sh** on here is old and boring.

Im asking for some form of productivity beyond its current state.

Attempts to be "productive" were met with "we are looking into it" responses, not to mention a lack of community reps.

Without competent leaders like community reps forum communities get real bad aka this one.

beyond the 20,000 viewed "add male mitha/famale galka", and the "dont tie weapons to jobs/classes" thread. what would you view as most productive?

I'm talking back since Beta.. and add on top of that this game being around for 9 months now, is it any surprise its come to this.

I hold the community responsible, however the sole blame goes on SE.

i think the main reason the forums are not very productive is the lack of answers we are getting/lack of coommunity reps- or the lack of information the reps are getting. If we had faster and clearer answers no such stupid threads about jumping were made (well not stupid rather... way too long).

Another thing is... when the forum started, i read some amazing posts with great ideas, so elaborate and thought through, and they didnt get an answer from the reps, or anything... The good posts got rarer and rarer. If the people with good suggestions don't get answers at all well... no wonder people use the forums for mainly bitching, complaining to express their disappointment. A lot were called trolls the very moment they had some ideas or changes and got replies like "go back to wow, or if you don't like this game don't play it".

The forum now is anarchy. No leading, and no direction. Thats just how humans are... take away the police, the direction, the control and the government and they kill eachother lol

Ask yourself this, in todays current job climate, would you jump at the chance to be a community rep for Square Enix, the sinking ship that it is? The company has already suffered economical losses and redundancies, I hardly think there is a queue of people waiting to apply for the roles.

You can be as smart as you want with your comment, but it doesn't deny the fact that there just may not be enough people applying to fill these roles. I know I wouldn't work for them right now.

Am I missing something? did Square Enix become a indie game company over night, that is having a hard time filling employee positions?

Lets not forget that SE has a NA headquarters that hires independently from JP, with that said in the state in which the NA economy as a whole is do you really think people would pass up a chance to be a part of a multi million dollar company... failed game or not..

I know a plethora of people who care about this game and would love to help in any way, even if that meant being an unpaid community rep (like a GM, which a lot of smaller gaming companies do ex. S2).

If you can show me some article even hinting at people resigning completely from the company and a lack of response in hiring, then all entertain your thought.

While you might want business to work that way, it doesn't. The company is suffering alot right now, the E3 line up alone shows that it is really being bled dry. People are reluctant to change jobs, and I can imagine very few people would like to join a company that is right at the bottom of the food chain.

Your basing a businesses success on an E3 line up (which you personally don't like) and you state i don't know how the business world works... Did FF XIV hurt SE well derp of course it did but it did not destroy the company... Square Enix is as strong as they have ever been over in JP, albeit to say they may be struggling in NA as of late. You make it sound like Square Enix is on its last leg and planing to liquidate their assets.

Square Enix faced a rough year no doubt with a net lose of 16 billion yen (keep in mind a portion of that was due to natural disasters), but that is hardly putting Square Enix in a position to not be able to support itself in rough economic times. Square Enix fiscal plan shows no signs of slowing and only of improvement, look it up.

Edit: Just because you are pissed at a company or you feel they are doing bad does not make it so, or the belief of everyone around you. I feel that SE has a strong line up of games to be released thus they must be doing well, see how that works.. -_-

Game line up hype is not synonyms of company success.

I would like to see the devs reply to more topics outside of General discussion.
