Pacify is a nice way to fill in the gap, if your DPS is low and you have to stun more than 3x before entering "diminishing returns".
But pacify also suffers from the same "diminishing returns" table.
If it worked like silence currently does, it'd be pretty awesome.

1) Stun is a status affliction so it still counts for this nerf.
2) They worded it fairly clear, they in no way mean elemental resists.
3) Ifrit is a set skill rotation, DPS has nothing to do with the timing of eruptions.
