Is SE going to screw us over with high prices until we make ourselves poor or something? Is this going to be a thing going forward where we get punished for how different servers play?
Personally. I actually think the prices would be appropriate....
...if they removed one zero from them.
Like they did with our savings from 1.0.
I don't mind the idea of super expensive housing being available in the game, provided that there are extremely cheap options to tide people by in the meantime. It should have been 4m gil maximum for a small house, so every FC can have a place to call it's home without having to recruit 512 people, extort gil from them and then boot them shortly afterwards. Which legitimately could happen, and that's a concern for me.

Who's to say the world wont end tomorrow?
I imagine that, just like they've always stated from the start, that SE are doing Free Company housing to test the system. They've mostly commented on testing the servers in the past, but it also applies to the price and furniture/etc.
If this is a ridiculous and unobtainable cost, like everyone seems to be pretending, then when personal housing comes along, they'll price it accordingly to how Free Company housing sold, as well as adjusting Free Company housing (which, afaik, they even said they'd do).
a moghouse sized house on a plot of land? that used to go for one person back in XI. if your counting the land I'd say a few more. Keep in mind with size comes space constraints, so everyone that just shelled out 1 million for that house won't even have the joy of being a designer, and Twelve help them if they don't use it, cause SE will take it away and that's millions down the drain.
At least when I sell crafted gear I don't swipe the stuff back from people once their done with it.
What i want to know is ... why is a thread with already over 300 replies ... and i'm sure getting faster views than most threads ... not in the hot topics section on the main forum page?
I never see anything but threads with few views and replies there ... is it bugged? >.>
This. It was supposed to be an escape from repetitious, grindy content. A way for all of us to have a change of pace. A place for our FC to laugh and goof off. Instead it is an exclusive place for only the super rich and gilbuyers to do all of those things. The rest of us plebeians will be stuck doing the same things we were before the patch; ripping our eyes out of the monotonous grind of repetitive content while we wait for our 2 hours of coil and one drop from CT every week.
It's a plugin system, and is likely using a cache. It may also focus on new threads, but still only update every hour or two. Hard to say without knowing which plugin they're using, really. What i want to know is ... why is a thread with already over 300 replies ... and i'm sure getting faster views than most threads ... not in the hot topics section on the main forum page?

And you know next to knowing about markets. Anyone can ask any amount for anything, does not mean it will sell. I am on that world and make vanya gear to sell, try checking the sales history and tell me when the last one sold for 2 million. Oh you can't see when the last one sold for that much in the history cause it was in September. The most expensive one in the history (from December) sold for $330,000.
Before you go and dismiss this, my FC has enough to buy something should we wish, so this is not me complaining about the prices (though they are stupidly high). However, as many have said, they way you present yourself in this thread does nothing but make you look like a petty, foolish, arrogant, idiot. And statements like the above do nothing but reinforce it.
