Even if you blew through the story, got to 50 and be CM/P, the remaining dungeons are fairly shallow, as are the quests, and the FATE's are even more hollow then that. I've done a lot of the 1.0 quests AND the 2.0 quests. If those are content, then I fear for the longevity of this game. x.x
You missed the point. What you mean is that that's not new content. What I mean is that, until new raids, etc. are introduced, doing any endgame dungeon or raid for loot (as we've always done in a lot of MMOs, including the almighty WoW) can be considered for some the same thing as replaying the game up to level 50. In any of those situations you have nothing new to do, you just replay the same content that you've already done until more new content (more quests and/or levels, or new dungeons/raids) is released, be it to get new shinies or to have another class at maxlevel.

Some people like to do the infinite dungeon farming (AKA carrot in the stick), some others prefer to level another class/job or a whole new character, and some others like both (I do here in FFXIV as I can use my character for them all). And they're all right, as they play the game as they enjoy it. Saying that any of those is not actual content because you like one more than the other is just a matter of opinion, and not a fact.

Right, that's my opinion, since I didn't state anywhere in my post that it wasn't or that what I said was 'fact'.

Then it's subjective and both stances are valid, thus you don't differ with what I said originally

No I disagree with what you said, that's why I said ''beg to differ''. I disagree with you, but that's just my opinion. Though numbers don't lie, and many subs are gone already. I'd be curious to see how many people do what you're doing vs how many people quit because of the mindset I posted.

You disagree with me saying that all opinions and preferences regarding replaying content, be it doing endgame or leveling another class, are valid? Because that's what I was saying, as I wasn't comparing it with having new content. You want new and/or better content, I got it, but I think that you misunderstood and still misunderstand what I meant in my first post.

Anyway, I'll add something else. The reality is that as we currently lack the technology to produce a large quantity of content in a short period of time (because of time, money, and other constraints), at some point of time between content patches we eventually run out of new/fresh content, it's inevitable. Once that happens, we've always and will always have (at least until technology advances enough to let us change this) to replay some kind of content in our MMOs, be it by playing any kind of repetitive endgame (PvP too, even if by it's nature of not playing against an AI it can be a bit less repetitive), by replaying the 1-to-maxlevel old content, or by doing player-created content (roleplaying, for example). Some people choose to do the former, some others the later, and some others do all of them. They aren't doing anything new, but that old content let's them pass the time until new content comes, and it works for some. For those that it doesn't work but that are still interested in the game, they usually come back once said new content is released.

SE could release more and better content? Maybe. Faster? Perhaps, but it would have its ups and downs. But the fact remains that content can't be infinite nor change randomly to stay always fresh. It can be hard enough to last for a long time, yes, but even hard content will be completed eventually, not to mention that we already have that kind of content here (see Coil, Twitania, and EX Modes coming); but that's content that just a small minority can complete, as has been proven time after time, and it's not a good idea financially to have a lot of that kind (people get frustrated and leave, see Titan).

I have no interest in morality of opinions, only that mine is different from yours, and that I disagree with that difference enough to discuss it here. I still don't believe going about content another way means there's more of it. Now it may make it more meaningful for some people, but even then we lack the tools to diversify what we have already to achieve that. It's a pseudo feeling at best. You can choose to believe, and therefore do whatever you want though. You're paying after all. Also, you may be right about the lack of technology on SE's part, but other developers are churning out content patches much, much faster then this game is. Bug fixes/balance changes too. SE's 3 month plan is harming this game more then most people seem to realize. All it takes is a gander at a few other companies to see the difference.

For example? As I said releasing things faster has it's upds and downs too. Look at Anet, as GW2 is the prime example of fast content patches (every two weeks). How many new systems do they introduce in that span of time? It took them more than a year to release housing (and it's not released yet, as far as I know), for example, and it was promised to be there way before the game's release. And how much does that content last and how much grinding does it requires you to do to complete all the achievements, as that's the core of their content patches? A lot of people are still laughing at the joke that they did when they said that they would release "a couple of patches worth an expansion's content" some months ago. And their balance fixes? Tell that to the ranger community. The only thing that SE could learn from them would be to do proper seasonal events, instead of the bland ones that we've had.
