It seems a little absurd to be whining about people looking to be "carried" through the instance while simultaneously insisting everyone be extremely well geared before being allowed to queue for what amounts to entry level content.

What with main stats being hard-capped based on ilvl, I wonder if the Toxotes-on-a-Dragoon scenario would be circumvented by having a main-stat minimum rather than an ilvl minimum.
Like I'd have what, 380 int on my SMN with mostly 55-60 stuff, maybe I'd need 350 in order to queue for AK.

Requiring people to have level 50 gear is now "extremely well geared"? I found it really ironic to read about the WHM earlier talking about having no problems healing Titan with 2900 HP because I just had the same situation happen a few days ago in a DF Titan party. Same class, almost exact same gear, and would you like to know what happened? She couldn't even make it past the heart phase. If you have played MMOs for a long time you should know that the vast majority of people that queue for DF are not just awful at video games, but they're also lazy. If the player base at large would like to see the DF succeed with regards to the Titan fight, a gear check is essential and it must be done right.

I agree with the ilvl check for instances, because most people are lazy as shit and they just want to get carried.what happened? She couldn't even make it past the heart phase. But I could heal properly Titan HM with 2900 HP because I knew the rotations and the strategy, I worked hard and succeeded.
The healer you got in your party maybe was at his/her first battle, or maybe he/she was just a bad player.
But remember never to point your finger at people, there are lots of undergeared good players, as well as overgeared noobs.
A full DLBLM insulted me for my gear against Titan and then walked off the cliff at the start of phase 2.

Expecting people to have level 50 gear is reasonable. Demanding everyone farm tomes for a few weeks and getting fully decked out (which is what people in this thread and in previous threads have been suggested) is when it gets silly.
Wonderful. You ran into a bad player. And? I can cherry pick examples too: My last HM Titan run had a 2700 HP monk in his class-quest gear and a mix of darklight and crafted white/green accessories and a Dragoon in full darklight with a smattering of myth and coil gear thrown in. The dragoon was the first person dead on every attempt and the monk never even took significant damage across the entire fight.I found it really ironic to read about the WHM earlier talking about having no problems healing Titan with 2900 HP because I just had the same situation happen a few days ago in a DF Titan party. Maybe it's just me but every time I've wiped on Titan HM it's been a matter of someone making a mistake. Someone eats a bomb, someone gets landslided. Someone stands in the wrong spot on jump. Someone doesn't kill stones fast enough (or bursts the wrong stone during heart phase), not so much a matter of gear.
