You don't need any DL gear to beat Titan HM. He's not tuned that tightly. So, to be clear, the strictest ilvl check I could see them implementing is average ilvl 60, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be in the 50-59 range. I'm a fresh 50 PLD, and I can easily reach that if I dropped a little money into it. That doesn't mean I should be tanking Titan, though. As for the assertion that ilvl somehow corresponds to skill level, I have to strongly disagree. I could go afk in CM to farm philosophy tomes until the cows come home. I'd end up with an ilvl 70 set, overgeared for anything shy of coil. Doesn't mean I know what I'm doing.

I'm a fresh 50 PLD, and I can easily reach that if I dropped a little money into it. That doesn't mean I should be tanking Titan, though.

The only requirement for a Titan tank is that they know enough to not eat bombs and not get their fellow party members struck with a cleave. As long as the healer knows the fight, an AF-geared tank is fine. I'm much more annoyed with a tank who moves during bombs than I am over any gear issue.

Tanks! You can stand in the NE corner and not take any bomb damage ever! You never have to move from the beginning of the heart phase to the end. Please, get one of those drinking birds, set it over a key bound to Rage of Halone, and go afk. Spend some time with your kids, get to know your wife...Mr. Drinking Bird will be a far better tank than a player unfamiliar with the fight

Yeah. . .so, I queued for Titan the other night expecting to OT because I'm a little laggy. Got in only to find that the WAR had less hp than I did even with Defiance buff. I wound up splatting to an unlucky string shortly after the first set of bombs. . .

Tanking this fight is incredibly easy. However to hold hate they need a primal weapon and AK gear to mitigate damage.

I farmed Garuda HM with lv49 weapon, lv50 gear and lv28 accessories, got to Titan after a bit farming, with 2900 HP, Garuda and Ifrit weapon, a DL sash, and the rest was the same. Now I have a relic, nearly full DL but 2 AK pieces, and I can say Caduceus is easy as shit.
I understand someone might expect to be carried, but stop pointing the finger at the others and give everyone a possibility, maybe they can do it even badly undergeared.
Never heard of low level gamers? 122333 in FFXII? Something like that :3

You might think you weren't "carried" and you prolly weren't carried in the sense of the word, but...other members in the group had to make up for your lack of equipment and that's a fact. You not seeing that makes you either ignorant, or selfish. You could be the best player in the world, if all of the PT members had your level of gear in the fight, there is a high chance you would have failed miserably.

With that gear I solo healed Ifrit in an average party (ilvl60/partial DL) and I had the best HPS against Garuda.
Aaand, I solo healed all the endgame dungeons.
I don't think solo healing can be "carried".

HPS doesn't mean shit. Just because you shit there mashing Adlo or Cure II over and over again doesn't mean you're a better healer. Solo healing Ifrit isn't even that hard as long as people dodge stuff. The only mandatory raid damage is the nuke after nails. Hell I've solo healed Ifrit as my BLM just for jokes before in a full DPS + WAR party. Any healer that quotes HPS trying to prove skill honestly doesn't understand their role at all.

I'm not trying to "prove my skills".
Some idiot was saying "undergeared" means "carried", then I provided a piece of information about what I did.
And "mashing Cure II over and over again" is just wrong because you'll waste all of your MP overhealing.
If you have to point your finger on people assuming they're bad players, then you can shut up and seem a bit intelligent.
If I wanted to prove my skills I'd just dance in the Conjurer's Guild spamming Holy and yelling "LOOK AT MEH!"
