It is like you beat coil, and it pops up a question asking "Do you want next coil to be easier? Yes/No". Except it does this in a cryptic way with gear drops instead so it isn't as obvious.
I think you miss the point of these kind of mmo's. To answer your question if an mmo had a pop up like that I wouldn't play. The point is you challenge these challenging end game raids/dungeons in order to get better gear. It's the entire aspect of rpg's. You go after stronger bosses/dungeons and get better loot. As you do harder things you become more powerful. This is in the core of what makes an rpg an rpg. You get rewarded for defeating the difficult encounter with powerful loot. It's been this way even in P&P Rpg's like dungeons and dragons. If you killed a dragon and literally got nothing that would be a terrible campaign.
