Yeeeeaaaah......you're gonna have to come up with a quote or a source for that. I don't recall the old dev team specifically stating that they're gonna gave chocobo raising and all that when they finally implement chocobos.
People seem to love ignoring that the game needs to basically be remade. FFXI got chocobo's for riding fairly quickly in it's life because they didn't need to go back and redo ...pretty much everything. it's a little silly to think if the conditions were right we would have to wait the same amount of time (9 months) to have them.
Chocobos should have been in from the begining honestly and its laughable they werent. I dont know if they were in the begining of FFXI but that was SEs first MMO so I could cut them some slack if they didnt have chocobos right away AND it was like 2002 or 2003 MMOs were different. I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

They didn't have a working Crystal Tools build until about 2 and a half years ago though.FF11 had chocobos in from the beginning.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
2, but yeah. As said, if they didn't have to redo things...it would likely be implemented by now. I think the main thing is, they never focused on the quests (let alone had time to given how it was pushed out >.>) let alone probably had an idea of what chocobos would be for beyond riding. This game compared to XI though needs a lot of more optimization for what is already present, let alone adding in airships (for our use.)
I played XI since JP beta so I remember the history, when I said it was given fairly quickly in it's life was we didn't have to necessarily wait for it, especially given that XI didn't need major overhauls to its core that pushed everything to the backburner.
The problem with XIV like I said was they originally wanted it to be as different from XI as possible which is where pretty much the majority of odd decisions come from. The server side interface adds to other problems like the slow response of actions and etc.

They said they don't have Chocobos because their anima system covered transportation and they needed something else for Chocobos to do.
You don't need a game engine to at least think and plan for something else for Chocobos to do.
'If they didn't have to redo things"? What do you mean? Chocobos should have been implemented from the very beginning, even before they realized they would have to redo things.
