if they drop it we will probably suffer from EXP loss, I had enough of that with FFXI. thanks but no thanks. I would rather repair gear than lose EXP.

We confirmed with the Item team that there are currently no plans to adjust the cost of repair fees or to allow for repairing in dungeons. Dungeons were specifically designed not to reduce your durability down to zero within a single run, thus allowing players to repair their gear once they exit.

Wait, did you say that we, as players, must take responsibility for repairing our gear before or after an instance? Nonsense! It gets in the way of my WP runs that earn me far more gil than required to repair per instance. Those 30 seconds of repairing all my gear, including my alternate equipment in the armory, could be used for something far more important. Like this post.

What about reopening the option for players to repair others' gear? This is one of the reasons I leveled all of the crafts, and my husband leveled all of the gathering. It was a way for us to save on repair costs since I'd be able to repair everything for both of us. I'm very sad that it's not available in ARR, and you don't want to be responsible for a sad Lalafell, do you?

Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
    You were warned.

A bad system design is not necessarily due to poor programming. The best programmed system in the world is still worthless if the design was poor. On the reverse a well designed system can have terrible programming behind it and yet run just fine and be easy to use. These two factors are not mutually exclusive nor does one imply the other.

Why not completely overhaul the repair system? Make it so at 0% condition an item has 95% of it's base stats and at 100% condition it has 105% of it's base stats. Then make repairing extremely expensive.

because it would get in the way of getting more important stuff out. Like content. Repair system is fine.

Yes it would be additional development, however every MMO economy requires scale-able gil-sinks. And as afar as gil-sinks go this is one of the better systems I think could fit into FFXIV.

I never understand why people ask for features to be removed when the simpler solution for them is to simply not use it? What would be the difference?

And I have never had gear break during an instance, because I always repair before I enter.
