Repairing seems so useless right now.

Repairing is so cheap now, and so tedius, why even bother having it in the game? You can't request repairs from people. You can't repair your own stuff because you can't change jobs in a dungeon/raid, so what is the point in it?

It removes very little gil from the game. Make every mob drop 1 less gil and get rid of gear wear entirely. All it is, is an annoyance that's not really removing a lot of gil. Adjust other things to remove the gil not removed by removing repairs from the game.

And imo, buying a house for 800,000, and buying crafter gear that costs 4000+ etc etc is a way better removal of gil than the repair system. It's frustrating to have to repair at all.

If you don't remove it, at least give us a "Repair All" button on their so we can repair every single piece of gear we own in one shot.

Better yet, if you don't remove it. Just give everyone the ability to repair without leveling a craft and make it cost 50% more if you do it yourself, and cheap like normal if you use a vendor.

They NEED to streamline repairing. You shouldn't have to change your class to repair stuff. Especially when you're a Miner or Botanist and something breaks, if you want to switch to a crafting class to repair it, you lose ALL your GP, and that recovers really slowly.

Plus like you said, because of how inconvenient the current system is, we can't repair in dungeons. It's not even good to repair between FATES because of how long the cooldown is when you switch classes.

They ABSOLUTELY have to change the system so it checks your crafting levels without making you change your class, so you can repair anything no matter what class you are as long as your appropriate crafting class is high enough and you have the tools and Dark Matter in your inventory.

With the current nonsensical system, which is the result of poor programming, player repairs are almost worthless.

A bad system design is not necessarily due to poor programming. The best programmed system in the world is still worthless if the design was poor. On the reverse a well designed system can have terrible programming behind it and yet run just fine and be easy to use. These two factors are not mutually exclusive nor does one imply the other.

It's just a holdover from 1.0 (where it was still tedious). Hopefully they just drop it all together in the future.

It's pretty frustrating when you are in an instance and you get the message that item XYZ's condition has dropped below 10% and you have the class to fix it but can't...

There you go, I've fixed it for you. Please, let me submit my humbles apologies to you, the person who does nothing wrong ever. Unless, that is, it requires grammar or proper sentence construction.

They blew it. They really did. When they were programming 2.0 they had the chance to make repairing easy and useful, regardless of prices and other design choices.

But they didn't. It's still a pain to repair your own stuff and to kick crafting when it's down, the NPCs do it faster and for the same rate no matter the durability is when you repair.
