They blew it. They really did. When they were programming 2.0 they had the chance to make repairing easy and useful, regardless of prices and other design choices.

But they didn't. It's still a pain to repair your own stuff and to kick crafting when it's down, the NPCs do it faster and for the same rate no matter the durability is when you repair.

player repair is totaly worthless, not almost but totaly worthless. With the gil income from run Ak and SR you dont even need to use player repair, and the other point as mention in post #2, no need to repeat again

Your stuff has to be broken past a certain point to make self repairs worth while for one otherwise you end up losing gold. As someone with all the crafts at 50 I can't even remember the last time I repaired my gear. Honestly they need to make dark matter like 8x cheaper then it is now and make one repair button that detects all the crafts you have leveled and fixes your gear so you don't have to swap between 5-6 crafts to repair everything.

Other way to fix self repairs is take out the dark matter requirement. Let people who leveled the correct crafts fix their gear for no cost. Then all the tedium of repairing your own gear would have a purpose, you save gold.

I agree with Vaen. The system really needs streamlining. I do a lot of crafting and I like having the ability of repairing when something breaks but it's still a hassle the way it's set up now. The ability to repair your own gear regardless of current class would be a welcome change.

Please add an "Repair All Gear" - button. I do it always anyway, just takes some time. Just add an "Are you sure?" - check and it's all good.

believe me, i wish i had all my crafts and gathering classes to 50 so I can use my own resources to repair for free. When NPCs charge me to repair gear that's like 50% and it's lv.50 gear, it's not cheap! lv.50 gear at 50% wear cost me around 1999gil. Last time I was in a pinch for gil, I had to switch around jobs until I was worthless. Then a crafter friend came around and helped me out, thank you "Bobby"! ^^

well I remember when repairs were sooo expensive and im glad they made it cheaper, stop complaining, soon youll complain that its free and yada yada. It honestly takes 1 second to repair and if your below 10% its like filling your car with gas....why let it get that low.

The repair UI and self-repair workflow really needs to be streamlined.

However I don't really have any faith in SE's ability to design UIs properly. They probably don't have a UI "Designer", just a UI "Programmer". Just look at all that dead weight in UI interactions all over the game.

I think those UI interactions are cheap time sinks, like the endless SWTOR transitions when zoning.

You can't gather dark matter it has to be bought from npc so there is no way around the repair cost.
