You mean losing countless subscribers and eventually going F2P?

The game won't die, there's enough diehard FF fans to keep it around, but it won't be competitive either, and neither is SWTOR.

I'm saying because they didn't, CT will be largely skipped until they DO, and FFXIV will feel the hit in players bored with endgame progression.

f; Thank you, lets go for one more, this one is hot on the English forums, during the beta days. We explained that the characters position data and server is done every 0.3 second. Because of that 0.3 second delay even if your character on screen is out of enemy AOE they are getting hit. Will there be any adjustments to shorten this or make any other changes?
y; In general in any MMO there is a 0.3 second so even if we shorten this, depending on the players PC specs and the physical distance between the players client and server is always there. Although there was internet changes you don’t experience this much but no matter how fast, there will be lag. I understand you can experience this more with the lag so we have placed a measure to improve this.
y; This is specially done for the upcoming Wolves’ Dens zone and End contents such as Primal battles and Bahamut’s Coil for these we have placed a measure for correction, it’s going to increase the amount of data stress but with this it should feel much different, it’s better. Specially the information between characters has been optimized.
y; However it’s dangerous to place this on the entire field, we placed special measure for FATEs, so we would like to see how that goes. But as for end contents it should feel much better
f; so please check it out in 2.1.
y; Yes. I believe with this it should resolve some of the players with this issue

What numbers? You acknowledged there was 1.4 million units sold. You also acknowledged we have 600,000 subscribers. What are you confused about?

What hurt SWTOR was them fixing things while breaking others, Job rebalencing more then once. The game engine that SUCKED. The same quest OVER and OVER and Over. 3 PVP sets that became completly useless after a new patch, then making the best PVP set into a PVE set. And those UGLY armor sets......

    I'm talking about SWTOR now

I'm sorry for not buying the stink about how f2p means the death of the game.

Warhammer Online is shutting down, in case you missed it. hur hur.

'competative' with what exactly? WoW? not gonna happen. ever. no MMO will be competative with WoW until WoW dropps down to a mio subscribers too.

Anyway, SWTOR today is a very stable game and is growing in content options available to players. What distabilized initial SWTOR performance was the engine and the amount of bugs, most of which are gone today. On the other hand, SWTOR was miles ahead of FF in character customization, PVE and PVP.

But that goes right back to the amount of content in the game... which you said yourself you weren't complaining about, but rather the direction the game is going in. CT has nothing to do with the direction the game is going in, it's been a part of the game since launch. Bumping the iLvl and stats would make CT 'more content', which may solve the 'boredom' issue, but again seems to contradict the "I'm not complaining about lack fo content" part...

I haven't done all of the content in endgame progression. Trust me, I'm not worried about how much there is.

I'm worried about the choices the dev team has made in releasing it. Their decision to release CT AFTER Coil and make it a lower tier raid has reaching consequences I've already gone over - difficulty finding groups, skipping entirely, etc. Myth tomes may make it worthwhile, but that'll only last as long as people need myth tomes - which, if people are doing CT AND Coil, won't be very long.

SWTOR didn't fail because of lack of content. It failed due to poor support and horrible PvP design (except Huttball).

Ilum was a disaster, Soa's platforms were consistantly bugged despite Bioware claiming they fixed it. Every world was designed to keep Empire and Alliance factions apart, which killed World PvP from the get go.

I'm just glad they supposedly fixed the netcode issue. Also I'm, to be honest, more excited about future patches. I like the concept behind the golden saucer with plenty to do other than grinding/leveling/dungeons. Many mmo's don't focus on a plethora of mini games. That's just me. My recommendation? If you're worried take a break from the game then keep an eye on the updates. If anything interests you? Come back if not don't. This isn't a "Just quit then." it's what I've done in the past for other mmorpgs.

Honestly? The fact that they've even acknowledged the netcode issue is probably going to be enough to get me to come back. It's crazy discouraging to see an issue that's utterly game breaking (and it was, and is!) go completely ignored for years at a time.

So... Hey, I'm not going anywhere. I do still feel these decisions in content release are very poor and SE's gonna feel the hit though.

I LOVE my SMN. My SMN is why I'm quitting WoW. But that's my SMN - not the other classes I have no interest in playing right now.
