DON'T U WANNA PVP N LIMIT BREAK DOE TROLOLO???
Oh wait, no one else should LB sepct DPS. Yay!!!
Seriously. I'm waiting for 2.2 before I recommend my friends of this game.
I told them to wait...now eh...may be better games after the wait.
What an awesome idea! Congrats on being the first couple in Eorzea to have your very own private home!I know everyone isn't interested in housing but heres what me and my wife did. We have a personal FC with just the two of us. We plan on getting us a house together that we can work on and have a linkshell for groups needed and not have a FC so we can build a house that's just ours. That will keep us busy for awhile plus all the other additions in 2.1. Anyways just thought I'd put that out there.![]()
There's irony with that.I must admit I find myself confused by posts like this.
SE isn't going to read this and think "he's right, screw CT let's ditch that then magically create a harder raid before the next scheduled update".
Its apparent you dislike the game and it will not be changing. So why indeed should you continue to sub?
Why bother to post at all? Find a game you'll enjoy playing.
Good luck..
So why have a section where people can complain or bring up something that others clearly dislike?
There should be more content after coil; crystal tower is accessible to those with full DL and Relic. That's wack
We need something to do AFTER coil or something to its equal for those that can't beat turn 5.
Why work backwards for those who think "titan HM is hard" or only make the same bosses harder.
Needs FRESH AND challenging content
Nope

We've wanted shared housing since we got together playing FFXI. I'm glad to hear that someone else is doing this too *happy Lala dance*
Now, in regard to the OP:
I am sorry that you were disappointed. Unfortunately, your assumptions are incorrect. SE did not plan to release lower level content in the first patch. Crystal Tower was originally planned for launch. However, there were problems with the difficulty and balance.
This left them with a hard decision to make.
Do we release CT and then rebalance it later? -> No, because this was already a relaunch of the game, and they didn't want to release content that wasn't absolutely ready. If they had released it, and it wasn't balanced, people would be unhappy and leave the game.
Ok, so then do we hold off on releasing the first 5 turns of Coil? -> No, because that would effectively mean that there was no 'end game' content. If they didn't release Coil, then people would be unhappy that there was no end-game content and leave.
They made the decision to release content that was ready, and informed the player base of what happened. They apologized, explained why CT was not ready, and that they know that it doesn't seem to make sense to have lower level content released later, but felt that this was the better decision. Only a small percentage of the player base would make it through Coil before 2.1, so CT would only be a step backward for a minority of the players. Even still, it would be new content.
Now, another thing that happened is that more people than were expected purchased and/or returned to the game. This led to the server stress issues that happened early on. That led to their teams being redirected towards fixing the server stress and over-population. That led to 2.1 being released a few weeks later than originally planned.
Now, I'm not defending them or white-knighting, I'm trying to explain what happened so that you have a better context for making your decision. They've been clear with us on what was being released and when. When things were pushed back or delayed, they explained why and when as well.
Now, here are some things you can consider with regard to whether or not you should renew:
First and foremost: Do you enjoy playing the game? If not, then, by all means, don't renew. If you do, but don't have any desire to do new content just because it won't improve the one job you want to play, then perhaps you shouldn't renew. Come back around 2.2 or later, or just go away entirely.
Do you want to support this company/development team? They've been remarkably frank with us for being a corporate entity, and I personally respect that.
tl;dr: You've made incorrect assumptions. CT was planned for earlier release, but wasn't ready. They didn't plan to release backwards progression, but they did plan to release content only when it was ready.
(as an aside, I'm usually against those people that just say 'if you don't like it, leave' but it's getting harder and harder to be against saying that when people make incorrect assumptions so they can justify being butt-hurt)
Well, this thread doesn't really contribute anything to this forum. You're asking for opinions on something that only you can really best decide.
You should decide whether you're subbing or not based on whether you're presently enjoying the game, not because someone else tells you you should or shouldn't.
But how else are they supposed to pay for all this work that's supposedly being done if you don't keep subscribing?![]()
Well put...that just proved what we've been arguing about. Saying that this patch that we've been waiting half a year for is benefiting only casuals. So what your saying is that SE is making stuff to benefit casuals after working on it for months. The game isn't "regressing." It's offering content to appeal to all levels of play. NOT EVERYONE IS A HARDCORE PLAYER and not everyone has lv90 gear as much as some people on this forum think they do.
But if you have to ask "Why should I renew my subscription" then you probably shouldn't. I love the game and still think it's great and I am still very interested in the new patch content. But if you're not, feel free to take a break, and I'm not saying this to be facetous or anything, but rather because you might be burnt out and / or just not that interested inthe game in the first place, and that's fine. Not every game can appeal to everyone.
In other words, you think SE should cater to a minority, not the majority of players that pay the majority of its subscription dollars. It's not like we're never going to get more hardcore content. Even though I've been through Coil and consider myself a somewhat hardcore player, you really need to stop demonizing casuals like they're ruining the game just because they are possibly benefiting from this patch more than you.
Also, the OP is asking for PROGRESSIVE raiding progress. How does leveling your chocobo or gathering count as a progressive raid!?

Did I say it did? Also, the OP is asking for PROGRESSIVE raiding progress. How does leveling your chocobo or gathering count as a progressive raid!?
We are getting more raids. Coil will be expanded and there will be new stuff later on just as any other MMO. Don't act like just because this patch doesn't strongly cater to your will that no future patch ever will.
If this patch hadn't been delayed by the server troubles at launch we'd already be heading toward coil part 2 etc. at the time this patch actually comes out. I honestly kinda think the main reason for all the rage is simply the waiting- and I agree that things have taken longer than we expected, buti guess I just have more patience than the average person to wait for those things to come.
