I always run coil with a dragoon for the great damage that he have. Always parse more than 260 obviously he KNOW HOW TO USE THE CLASS.A Dragoon on a dummy for sure, but a Bards mobility and ability to do damage in any situation overcompensated for the discrepancy. Dragoons also have a 27 press rotation so their DPS is a bit more earned, not to mention that melee should have some incentive for their increased difficulty and rigid requirements.
And the people who say that one class is OP are the people who want all classes to be viable. If one class is clearly superior to all others it crushes balance.
Hard to have a "support" class with 4 person dungeons.Lol bards crying that their DPS is getting nerfed when they should have been a support class to begin with :P ....Im all for them adding pure support classes in to this game, I would love for BRD to be more supporty, wait for Ranger if you want to be a super DPS. SE screwed bard up from the beginning.
I think it's a huge mistake to nerf BRD. MNK and BLM (with equivalent gear) should already be able to easily outclass BRD in terms of dps in any fight that isn't over in like 10 seconds. Which is fine, because they have a lot of unique utility they bring to the table, but they aren't so crazy overpowered as they need some kind of nerf.
I also think MNK and DRG are going to easily outclass BLM after they get buffed, and BLM will start to lag behind. Currently MNK and BLM are the heavy hitters, and MNK and BLM seem about equal (even with both having to move around in most fights of note).
Just seems like it's going to get messier before it gets cleaner at this rate. Good luck, SE.
Why do you care?
The reason BRDs get taken for Raids is Silence + Songs. Silence costs no TP and Songs cost MP, if anything they should covert Invigorate to an MP restoration.
Also Paeon totally fills TP faster than we use it. Yup.Yeah, because Army's Paeon doesn't drain our mana. And we don't need that mana anyway for Mage's Ballad in healing-intensive fights, or for Foe's Requiem during burn phases. And Army's Paeon doesn't also reduce our damage output by 20% or anything. Nope. Just infinite TP with no drawbacks at all.
I too find it a mistake to nerf bard, but going to assume it means we will either loser pugilist or lancer cross tree, either of which is bad and we are not taken to dungeons because of our dps, we are taken for our support ability. Oh let us not forget to buff the highest dps class in the game monk, that was pretty dumb. Although going to assume in the future BLM will become the highest dps just because if you can get spell speed to a number that is so fast you either can move at the last moment to not interrupt or have spell speed so fast you can just mash buttons faster than it will become the highest no question.I think it's a huge mistake to nerf BRD.
I'd be happier to see them tweaking cross class abilities than messing with our mobility. The mobility is what sets us apart from other classes.
I loled, bards can move and dps while BLM can't besides using Scathe and it's pathetic damage that's on the GCD.They will probably remove blood from blood.
If they also remove internal release, I will be VERY PISSED OFF.
This is a VERY unfair nerf. BLM dmg is OP, yet BRD gets nerf batted? Nerf that we can move like crazy while shooting, but not our actual damage. This makes no sense and was produced by crybabies.
Moving and shooting means nothing, once you get content down you don't need to move and shoot. If you do it is usually a very small fraction of the whole fight. Why do people keep bringing that up?
