Actually you can do Titan with half DL and half Hoplite.
I've done it before myself.

I've got to turn 5 with DL+Relic as WAR. IB 300% is actually really close to what 20% MIT will be anyway. IB for me is like 1.2k-1.5k without maim, berserk or unchained up (I'm not in DL now). Depending on how hard you get hit a 300% IB would actually be better than 20% MIT, so I don't see the problem? My point of far from invalid. tanking Titan with half DL and half AK one of two things happen 1) you are absolutely full of shit and trying to troll an argument on the internet 2) had way over geared healers to carry you through. Same thing goes for your DL/Relic WAR going to turn 5. I personally think it is number 1. There is nothing "bad" about being topped off (over 7k HP) taking a table flip followed by a crit auto attack and dying. In the same circumstance a DL PLD would have no problem and at least live to get the big heals coming his way. Not likely with a DL WAR.
warrior since 2010 ~
Storm's Eye
Bout time
Holmgang
bout time
Vengeance

Mercy Stroke
I would had like for them to revise the move! an evade ability or counter attack ...
Thrill of Battle
I always thought 10secs too short~most enemies don't even attack frequently enough to make use of it
Wrath
stacking for...? Critical? nope~ Cyclone? Nope !beast 100% heal=dmg ? nope~ Stacking has lost its purpose. pls add a dmg stack or increase critical
Inner Beast
dmg migration time is too low for single target use. For multiple targets, good use.
Steel Cyclone
needs dmg boost and effect maybe stun/slow
Unchained
use the 1hp no die ability with unchained to make useful ability
War is a tank with offensives skills and GLD is a tank with defensive skills. different ways of tanking both can tank the same mob. The way it was meant to be
You are clearly wrong. war CAN do that content, its just a lot harder. The DPS on PLD only exceeds WAR in Sword Oath (which I highly doubt you'll want to use in coil) but he is correct. PLDS can out DPS a WAR.
We still haven't seen the notes on the buffs which means I'd wait before making any negative comments.
Just because WARs are getting buffed doesn't mean they'll out do PLDs and you'll have Dual WARs instead of PLDs. The fact PLDs can already do the content means they'll always be viable. WARs can't do the content at all. So why people are against this buff is beyond me.
The 20% mit is much better than a heal of equal value (increases effective max health 25%, increases effective healing received 25%, no risk of overheal, don't have to time a heal in between two 0.5 second attacks). Given the spike damage design of bosses in the game so far, this is incredibly strong. New ID means WARs will have a no-brainer always-ready mit rotation for death sentence, mountain buster, etc: IB, IB, IB, IB, IB.
@Maelwys You're right. The deal is that PLD health pool is divided by 0.8, which is equal to being multiplied by 1.25. Slight edge to Shield Oath for mitigation.
I like all the crying over the Twintania references. Oh no, Warrior will be the preferred tank for this SINGLE ENCOUNTER, in A SINGLE DUNGEON. When, as the game stands now, Paladin is now the preferred tank for this encounter, and every other in Coil insofar.
There's really 2 types of players in the game right now who tank Coil, with a few brave outliers in strong FCs.
Type 1: Those who rolled Paladin, and brought it to 50, geared up, started Coil.
Type 2: Those who rolled Warrior, brought it to 50, geared up – and immediately saw the class imbalance between the two tanks, so they rolled Paladin, brought it to 50, geared up, started coil.
Broad generalisation incoming – anyone complaining about these changes is likely a Type 1.

It is not fun to play an mmo, enjoy leveling, enjoy story content, only to arrive at max level and find the playing field un-level. It's also not fun, to play an mmo, enjoy leveling etc and have your class nerfed. So, in this situation, is anyone being nerfed? No. They're simply improving the gameplay experience for the other half of tanks out there. And, guess what? We're on your side! You should want warriors balanced, you should want warriors to be slightly better at something than you, as you are better at some things as well. I can see this kind of crying when it comes to faction-based games, because that's war, but christ these are your fellow gamers.
This thread is in stark contrast to a thread that is built upon actual theory, instead of bullet points soaked in Paladin tears.

The problem i have with Brutal Swing is animation. It's almost 2s animation skill, make it hard to interrupt even if it's a non-gdc skill.
Or maybe the skill is intended to actually stun target to reduce damage, not actually for secondary useness like interrupting.

No....not even close.I've got to turn 5 with DL+Relic as WAR. IB 300% is actually really close to what 20% MIT will be anyway. I think SE should think this way: if I can bring two paladins, why should I bring a warrior? Paladins have everything best in game.
On top of those buffs, I'd suggest give warrior a silencing skill and an AoE blind effect, or simply remove Spirits Within and Enhanced Flash from paladins.
Otherwise, unless you're gonna bring multiple bards, you'll have a hard time even at ADS in Coil Turn 1...
Back to the question: Why should I bring a warrior if I have two paladins?![]()
It really is though. After maim + berserk IB would be close to 20% MIT, even without berserk if you get a decent hit in. The difference is that MIT scales with how hard you get hit, IB as it is now scales with how hard you hit. There's not a huge difference between 300% IB and the 20% MIT IB. They should remove the 100% from 2.1 IB though.
