    Just give war an ability that raises parry by a ton and an ability that reduces the next hit by 25% with a decent cd and call it a day. The most broken tanking mechanic i've ever seen was tank pally with that bubble they can put on every other moment and utsusemi and looking into weaker mechanics that are similar is a good place to start.

    I think the fact that this job was was probably a DPS with tanking parts is part of the problem and will always be unless rethought from the ground up--no more after thoughts.

    My prediction: SE will keep war amazingly devastating in PvP so later down the line you must do lolPvE to get PvP stuff... and that will fix the 'lack of tank' issues. /pets cat.

    It still lowers damage taken over the duration of the fight, which makes a difference.

    What. How can you discount a free ~26% damage reduction on a completely separate roll? The only non-physical boss in coil is ADS.

    I would kill for a parry buff on my warrior for turn 4. Hell even turn 1. Then again we abuse turn 1 by not killing blobs after the split. Works great.

    Even if we got a parry buff it would have to be higher % than bulwark to make it equal because block is on a separate roll.

    You can tell by the the changes that parry isnt going to be the method of damage reduction they will be using for it sure the stat threshold does match up with parry if you materia i70 tank gear and the af+1 to hit the 25% reduction mark but the skills just don't match up. So with that assumption we can assume that will be saved for what ever tank class they stem off of lancer.

    I was thinking about this, I'm sure others have mentioned it, but what about healing a portion of incoming damage? Like 30-50% depending on duration? That would scale with incoming damage and still be the self-healing aspect of WAR. Finally ran T1 with WHM and could not keep the WAR tank up after the split, just couldn't heal fast enough. Maybe the SCH should have been healing him, or maybe there was too many stacks, not sure it was my first attempt so maybe I just suck. Either way, I couldn't keep him up.

    Unfortunately, this would dip into mechanics that Dark Knight would use (if it became a tank). So Square Enix will probably hold off until level update to see if they turn Warrior into a self heal tank (unlikely) and scrap Dark Knight (unlikely), or make Dark Knight a DPS (plausible).

    I am not, Fyreus' idea was not in conjunction with the inner beast/vengeance/holmgang changes.

    You gotta explain that one to me.
    We need to kill the blobs off for removing stacks cause the WAR offtank just gets crushed.

    If you want the cooldowns to be equal, you can keep it the same and that would be fine.

    I'm sure there are different methods. Not speaking for Enjin, but my group does the kite method. There is a couple different ways you can implement it. Burn the PLD's (MTs) real quick while the Warrior gets ST threat. Soon as his drops you sprint/kite around the room. Not too hard to do with triggered tail swipes. Don't get too far ahead or he'll cut across tiles. Or you could burn the Warrior's (if you are able to regulate slimes easy and keep pre split Cad in check have Warrior MT) then have PLD Kite.

    Some groups just have the DD/heals to kill both before X stacks as well, that might eat your Warrior.
