Why is there still so much to do at end game?

Well there is a lot to do in endgame but sooner or later u gonna get bored of the same old stuff and when that happens i take a break go play some cod (yeah hate me as much as u want) or go play some yugioh with my sister then come back fresh for another session of grinding

When did I say instances? All of the "end game content" listed in this thread defending it is mind-numbingly soul-crushing. That includes: leveling alts, leveling crafting, leveling gathering, doing achievements, collecting minions (really?).. etc etc etc.

Welcome to MMORPGs. Perhaps you're lost and playing the wrong game genre, my friend. After reading this thread, my only conclusion is that there are a lot of bored killjoys who seem to can't stand seeing people enjoying something they feel is 'soul crushing' and don't realize that a big part of fun is personal perspective. Also, seems lots of people keep posting on a forum dedicated to a game they can barely stand to play because... I guess there are no other MMOs in the world they could be playing instead?

Arguing on the internet is always funtimes, I suppose. At least til servers are back up and we all log back in again. =P

ok, so you are also one of the people who think that just because they dislike something everyone else has to dislike it too. may I ask why you think those things are in-game when apparently nobody has liked and done them in the past? what do you personally think why SE is doing all of these things when there's no interest in it?

If you are having fun with the game then what does it hurt when someone else isn't and is requesting more content? What is it that you are defending? Do you not want more content, or do you just not want them to have more content. Its people like you that cause people like them to get so angry. Here you are though, posting about how they are wrong, arguing with them, riling people up and antagonizing them.

We've seen that movie since, uh, 2006 or so. After Guild Wars 2, I think it's pretty clear by now that content locusts/MMO hoppers/forum complainers don't know what they want.

It gets old, and I'm glad they're putting effort into stuff like Golden Saucer and Housing than yet more instanced dungeons (that would get ruined by the players' attitude). Adding in a positive voice about the game reassures SE (lol) that not everyone cares only about the endgame hamster threadmill.

I'm sure my prejudice isn't justified and that I'm a huge hypocrite since I've been like that too, but still, my point stands. I'd rather get content that's not centered about something that brings the worst in people.
