Why is there still so much to do at end game?

I mean seriously guys, I got from level 0 to level 50 and beat the story and now I am at end game. I still have to beat hard mode garuda, then titan, then get my relic weapon, and then get all this darklight armor which I haven't gotten more than two pieces of. And then, and THEN I gotta get my crafting up to 50 so I can repair some things and make some money, and THEN I have to do some fishing and then I gotta collect all the minions and level up my companion and then I have to get my GC rank up to max and then work on another class. I see some things about coil runs which I haven't begun to touch yet. And all this is without even getting to socializing and helping other players out.

Why so many people complain there is little to do at end game is beyond me. And i've been playing almost every day.

Everything in an MMO is ancillary. Most prefer to do end game dungeons, but that isn't a requirement to complete the main story (which is the only thing that you can't argue against being the fundamental basis of a game.) Some wouldn't play an MMO without end game dungeons, some wouldn't play without a crafting system, some without a vanity system. There is a lot of stuff to do in-game, but not everyone gets the same level of enjoyment from the same activity.

Something you view as optional could be entirely essential to someone else.

I haven't even finished gearing up my classes yet. I still use AK gear for BLM and SMN, and white acessories for PLD. WHM can be fully geared when I hit 50 (my main is SCH), but I'll try to get different gear for that class.

If people didn't use their +1 Relics to SR WP and gear up every job they had, they wouldn't be bored.

In actual fact, yes we would, we would still be bored - just completing content slower.

It's funny people say that FATEs makes people not learn their class, when most don't even play their jobs while gearing up. Instead of doing it in AF (where everything is harder), they SR WP with their mains, gear up their alts and then go to WP... I guess that explains all the 3.600 HP healers dying to the giant bavarois because Esuna is for weaklings.
