It's the current trend of MMO nowadays, your life starts at max level.
some ppl just play the game too much and done all contents, blame SE for lacking of contents, which is not true. and some of them didn't even finished all the contents.
How is it not the devs fault that people wanting to play the game more simply cannot play the game due to literally running out of things to do.
I have 11 people in my free company with all 50s, all the darklite, all the crafts. The only thing possible to do is coil and cap myth on that character now. <= This is 100% the devs fault because they developed a game with 0 time sinks... which is bad design for a mmo which needs to last the test of time. There is no carrot on the stick for a huge segment of the endgame playerbase. SE has released a game with no content for the hardcore playerbase.
And just to note.. Only being able to do coil = lack on content even if you have not beat twintania. Having literally 1 thing to do is the definition of lack of content.
Yes there is a big content patch coming. SE has to release these much faster then they are or they have to add different elements into them to occupy the playerbase. The current 3-4 month delay between patches and casual only content will not work at all.
The term END GAME gets thrown out there way too much. Just because your character reached the current Level Cap at 50 does not mean you reached the End of the Game.
Seriously.. the Game just bengins at level 50. and Dude this is a MMO that SE wants to repeat the success of FFXI their 1st MMO. I think its on it's 13th Year in service.
END GAME ? You are about 12 years away from seeing the END if SE has anything to say about it.
I just dunno.
Ive got my tank to 50 , ran wp amd ak about 13 times each now, and im over it already.
Ive got a craft to 50, a few in the 30's.
Havnt got all my DL armor or +1 yet.
Im a bit bored of it all already, Theres something missing, i cant place my finger on it.
Maybe the lack of dungeons, maybe the slwer combat or the laggy instances ,im not sure.
Maybe its that my FC has 98 tanks so theres no room for me in a raid group ( i think this is the answer here )
I find myself debating weather to cancel my sub or not
I love how the 1% that have everything done complain about there being nothing to do.
I'm with OP.
I do my 300 Myth a week, Try titan a few time, Waiting for FC to do it as an event again.
Level DOH, DOL, and 3rd class.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
you forget, some people just want to do the combat part and nothing more.........
Not a single person has said or even implied that there is a right and wrong.
In fact, how can you feel like you have the right to "dictate" people's opinion of a lack of content, when you yourself have not completed the said content.
Still have stuff to do? Then good for you, you don't play at other people's pace.
So you didn't play very much. Gotchayou know, I played 1.0 up until about march/april 2012 (don't remember when I stopped exactly but my sub ran out in april) and what was my highest level at the end?
21.
I am not saying the "majority of 1.0 players have capped classes".. I am saying that the "majority of 2.0 players who have been playing since release are most likely at level 50 with at least 1 relic." I find it hard to believe that someone who logs in and does in fact make progress, at least 1-2 hours per day, or even 6 hours per week, has not reached level cap.how the hell does that say anything about the majority?
If they have not, then I am sorry to be bluntly honest - but they are progressing slower then the crowd.
It's ignorant? I think simply taking a walk around town and disagreeing with my statement is rather ignorant.while I too think that 30 is probably stacking a little low, claiming the majority is 50 is just ignorant, nothing else.
Even Coerthas and Bluefog are a ghost towns in comparison to Mor Dhona with idle characters.. and both zones are huge EXP hubs. It is likely that a good portion (note the lack of the word "majority" here) in these areas are even working on their 2nd+ classes..
Sorry to say but it is "ignorant" to believe that not being level capped, 3 months after release is "the norm"..
Then why are people like you denying us of this right?edit:
nobody says people who are lvl 50 for a while and have done everything they like have no reason to be bored.
This sentence barely even makes sense.but that doesn't mean that there is nothing else to do or that they are forced to not enjoy the game just because they don't want to.
"It doesn't mean that there is nothing else to do, or that they are forced to not enjoy the game, because they don't want to."
What?
So it doesn't mean there is nothing to do,
and no one is forcing us to enjoy doing nothing
because we don't want to do nothing..
No matter how many times I read that sentence I don't really get what you are trying to say..
No one is saying we "don't enjoy the game". We are simply saying that the game lacks content that we enjoy doing at END GAME. Meaning, most of us enjoy the game, the issue simply is that there is little that we can do over and above grinding the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
Well I already did, and that didn't really help, as instead of having more content - I simply have twice the amount of the same content.I'm not telling you to force yourself to roll a new character,
Much of what you mentioned is not END GAME content here.play a doh/dol class, craft something for ls/fc members, help lowbies out with the in-demand classes in level-up dungeons, get all the minions, try to get all the achievements, play the black market board to make gil, farm stuff to give it away for free, chat up with random people, role-play, do dungeons in sub-par gear to have a bigger challenge (or do them with a member less, which is tricky with the DF system, but doable).. but those options are there. you just don't like them and want content that is specifically catering to your likes.
- EXPing any classes (including DoH/DoL) is not end game.
- Crafting some random stuff for your friends is not end game.
- Helping lowbies with low level dungeons is low level content. It is not end game content.
- Getting all minions (which many have already done without even trying) is not end game.
- Getting all achievements is not end game content...
- Farm stuff and give it away for free? lolWot? How is killing low level trash - end game content?
- Chatting and role playing is not end game.
- Doing dungeons in sub-par gear is doing the same end game content, that we are already doing (ie. not extra end game content).
As you see, not a single one of your "options" is even considered end game content...
What is end game content? It is content that you complete, in order to progress your character beyond level cap (until the next level cap is raised).
Examples:
- Wanderer's Palace / Amdapor Keep
- Primals
- Relic Climb (so... Primals in other words)
- The Binding Coil of Bahamut
- ........
- ........
- I can't even think of anything else, honestly.
THIS is why people like myself consider there to be no end game content... Because truthfully - this is the extent of it until Crystal Tower..
The biggest issue with Crystal Tower is many of us who played 2.0 since release will actually have 1-2 fully completed i90 classes (if this isn't the case already). Meaning that the gear that we could potentially get from CT is either worse then what we already have, or useful for classes we never play.
It honestly isn't about "waiting until December" for many people who are already upto/defeated T5 coil. It is about the lack of planned progression until patch 2.2. Meaning many of us have absolutely no way we can progress our main classes for a minimum of 4 months, which will most likely be somewhere around the 6 month mark when 2.2 is delayed.

"End Game" is not literal.
The term "End Game" refers to the content you do upon reaching level cap to progress your character.
Once level cap gets raised to 55 and the next handful of dungeons and raids come out, then they become "end game" and what was considered end game before is simply part of the tiered progression.
How are people actually amazed that players blow through MMO content? Are we supposed to slow down? Keep paying to log in for a raid a few hours a night once a week and then either twiddle or thumbs or use the game as a glorified chat room. MMOs have been attracting players like us since EQ1. That's the draw, the whole ever-questing thing. If we wanted to play a game and put it down when we are out of content we have a sea of offline JRPGs to choose from.
