The game is more or less built around not needing alt characters.

Funny, when somebody says that the game is unfriendly with playing multiple classes on 1 character (like with character lock for bahamut or the character cap for mythology tomestones), we hear "You should roll an alt."

Then, when someone says that the game is unfriendly with alt character (like with the moogle mail limitation), we hear "You should play all classes on 1 character."

So, which is it? Is it a game really built on 1 character or not?

Game is built for one character through and through - People just don't want it to take time in order to play multiple "fully" if getting BiS for your every class = playing the game.

Don't want it to take time? Did you even calculate the time it takes with the current cap to obtain the Mytho AF + relic +1 for each job (for those who want to stuff every job without alts)? 2 years and 4 months without counting the jewelry. Almost 2.5 years for an armor which will be obsolete in 4 months... Yeah, I think it's a little overkill.
