When people first said the world was to tiny, I said, just wait, Yoshi promised us 80 or so zones. It was quoted, it was in a live letter, so I waited. I have to say, maybe there are 80 zones but it depends on how you class a zone. In my head a zone was a map, a separate map that you "zoned into". Pick any MMO, it doesn't have to be 11 or EQ or WoW, any MMO and the world is so much bigger than this one. It seems that SE now defines a zone as the name of the place you are in. So take for example North Shroud, it is one big zone (big is a relative term here) and you have little zones within the zone, like Fallgourd Float or Peace Garden. My problem with this is all of these zones can be reached in less then 2 minutes, even by foot!

I played 11, to get to Jueno was a trek, and not a very safe one. It took over 30 minutes of walking, and you just had to pray you didn't die on the way. You had to take a boat from windy, the boat ride was 15 minutes alone.

People can say what they want about white knighting and nostalgia but this world in ARR is TINY! And I for one hate it. Nothing is hard, nothing is not 100% safe, I can teleport any where I want in a blink of the eye. I didnt work for a "flight path" I didnt have to farm the scroll for my teleport points, I didnt have to walk anywhere... If this is what they meant by 80+ zones I think they need to redefine the word zone, cause I dont think it means what they think it does.
