As an effort to get back to the original discussion.......
To the players who prefer playing alone, or perhaps it's better if I direct this towards Thedevilsjester, did you simply want to express how an MMO is also suited for your style of play or did you too want to discuss the implementation of single player mechanics in the game?
I'm sure bits and pieces of this are scattered around, but this makes things easier for myself and to help clarify where you're coming from.
Also, how can we, those within the Final Fantasy XIV community, help make you feel more comfortable?
finally :3 thank you fir these well needed questions. ^.^As an effort to get back to the original discussion.......

Well Kilta... every soloer will now be beating down your door to play with you...And also solo'ers can effect the community of mmo negatively as they are one less person who are willing to join groups. The more soloers less amount of groups can happem. This effects group based mmo Like ffxiv. And it a reason ffxi had grouping issues and why they made the game "easier".
A party to level or do content should not take 6 hours to form because the only people free are the soloist who are not interested.
I was told something in ffxi " mmorpg are community games, how you play CAN effect others" I'm all for options unless it effects people negatively.
Edit: And to clarify, I'm not saying that to be mean, I'm saying that because there are better ways to approach your point without angering and alienating people.
It's obvious that Kilta just posts for her post count. Other wise she wouldn't post 4 times in a row. It's also apparent that she does very minimal reading before she posts in said thread. This is common knowledge to everyone on these forums. But obviously she still doesn't understand it. It's people like her that make me want to solo.
Edit: Also, how can you claim you hate rude people, then act like you do?

The "I want to play alone" is why MMOs lately have been on the easy side, so the game can cater to them and why those who like doing group stuff have to deal with easy content. Whether bad or good is subjective but it is why MMOs have become the way they did in the recent years.
I still see that as more of an issue with gamers in general these days. The large group that wants to gain the most from the least amount of effort. I would think a lot of those people love to group in XIV because that's the easiest path to their goals, leve-links & behests. If someone chooses to solo in this game they're not exactly taking the easy way out. It's gonna challenge them and obviously take a lot longer. And even many of the soloers think the game is too easy and needs more challenge. Not all soloers necessarily want easy-mode.The "I want to play alone" is why MMOs lately have been on the easy side, so the game can cater to them and why those who like doing group stuff have to deal with easy content. Edit-
That somewhat answers your last question Xandre. I think there are some negative stereotypes associated with all soloers, when really they're talking about a certain type of player that may prefer solo, grouping, or a mix. Perhaps clearing stuff like that up can help improve solo/group relations lol.

XI was definitely more Group based, and that is what makes Soloing even more fun... The challenge of being able to solo what groups can do. Those who only Party should try the solo thing sometimes, it might open their eyes to a challenge. Yes you don't have to be in a group to get a challenge. I enjoy FFXIV a lot and maybe that is because I prefer to solo more often than grouping up. The game must FIRST give you a REASON to PARTY, before you can be expected to party.I don't think you should necessarily expect another player to constantly participate in group related tasks. That's somewhat selfish. However, regarding MMO, there appears to be those that are more solo friendly, while in Final Fantasy's case, there are those more group oriented. Regarding the players who enjoy playing solo, I think they should understand that FFXI and FFXIV are titles that are more resistant to their style of play and should take that into consideration when discussing it. Perhaps another MMO is better suited for them. Then again, my opinion doesn't really matter.
