I wouldn't so much "expect" anyone to skip cutscenes as I would "expect" that they not make a forum thread complaining about it every time they get left behind because they didn't. I'm not telling you not to stick your hand in the dogs mouth, I'm telling you not to come here and cry about it when it bites you. You knew that was going to happen.

And once again, if you want to speak of entitlement I'll refer back to the other 7 people in your party. The supermajority. What makes you so such a special little flower that everyone needs to waste their time waiting on you? After a 45 minute queue the last thing anyone wants is to spend another 5 minutes outside of every room watching you watch a cutscene you could have watched on your own time.

Talking about entitlement issues for reals. Just because you spent 45 minute in a queue doesn't give you the right to expect people to skip a cutscene they have every right to see. Doesn't matter if it's 20 people skipping and one guy watching, you cannot expect them to skip the cutscenes. Don't join a DF group if you are!!!! Also, noone should be expected expected to watch any videos before any HM fight neither unless they join a group asking for it. Talking about warped entitlement issues. I've been doing duty finder story missions as a healer, so i really don't care if people don't want me to watch cutscenes. They're welcome to leave if they have an issue with it. I paid my 80$ for the CE and a 3 month sub, if they want to pay me back for what i paid i'll gladly do as they ask. But it was my money that paid for everything so i'll be doing as i like, and that's watching the cutscenes as they come. There is always an exit if they don't like the extra 5 minute wait. Just saying!

Have you tried running Prae or CM recently? I've not seen a run in the last dozen where more than 2 people weren't with Ifrit weapons and/or darklight gear. If 6 or 7 people want to move forward and only 1 or 2 want to watch the cutscenes, can it really be said that the supermajority is "ruining" it? Seems like it would be the other way around to me. Those 1 or 2 folks could grab an FC group to watch the cutscenes just as easily.

With your highest character being a level 44 Gladiator you have no way of knowing what you're talking about. None of the dungeons in question are available to you nor are the HMs you speak so knowingly of. Get to level 50, run a few HMs, run Prae a few dozen times and then come back with what will hopefully be a coherent arguement.

That fact is: If you watch the cutscenes, expect to get left behind.

It's that simple. I get why folks do it, and I prefer that they do it - not that I get any say in it regardless, I'm not a tank. Ultimately it's their decision. I get why folks watch the cutscenes too, and that's fine as well - but if the other 7 members of your group are running around with Ifrit weapons you know you're going to get left. You can watch those cutscenes anyway, that's fine, but don't be surprised when you're locked out of a boss fight and don't make a forum thread every time it happens.

Expected, no. But it really is a huge benefit to at least watch the hardmode videos on Garuda/Titan, especially Titan since even tiny mistakes from one person can wipe the raid and fail the heart phase. But thats an entirely different subject.

I really don't understand why some people want to speed run praetorium when they can simply run any other dungeon for tomes much faster. I join praetorium once in awhile as white mage just to help out others, and I go in fully expecting people to watch cutscenes. Some people man....:/

CM, Prae, WP and AK each give 100 phil, and WP is clearly the easiest and fastest of those 4. Prae and CM don't give any myth, so I don't understand tome farming in those dungeons at all anymore.

CM and Prae are easymode for DPS. Little to no work or attention required at any point by the time you have a GC weapon and a piece of darklight. Something you can do with a beer in one hand and still get to the end-goal relatively quickly.

So my level is too low to understand what common courtesy is, wow, awesome argument there. You have no idea what i've done in a game, don't assume stuff just because you look at my avatar, one of many.

The OP is not complaining about people leaving him behind, he is complaining about jerks that bitch at him for watching cutscense. IN A DF GROUP!!!. You expect people to skip cutscenes, don't join a DF and bitch at people for watching cutscenes.

Maybe you should grow some balls and tell them to shove it, then take your time with the CS's. It's their fault for not making a complete group. My experience, i guess i was lucky i knew ahead of time about the flaming. i just told them like a spoiled, entitled brat to shut up and let me enjoy the story. They flame you, so just overwhelm them with 2x more flaming back at them and they will just be quiet and wait : ). Easy for me to do.

Ive done a lot of cm's and stil havn't encountered a case where someone flamed for watching cs. I agree you are entitled to watch the cs, same as others are entitled to participate in instance if they wish to skip cs, even with 1 guy locked out cm is easy. So this case seems rare, and doubt it has happened on the scale the thread title suggests.
