Ok, 2 quick questions...

When checking FC status page on the Lodestone, is the gil balance displayed along with all stored items ok for everyone?
Also, has anyone heard of any FC gil balances being taken?

Asking because I just checked out my FC page and it's displaying all the stored items as it should, but it's saying the gil balance is 0gil Really hoping it's just a website glitch...

Mine is displayed as 0 as well on the Lodestone. Just logged in and checked the chest and the gil is not missing. It just doesn't seem to be showing up on lodestone.

This sucks hoping I haven't lost anything when I get back on the game going check FC chest to make sure as well.
On a side note though we can't really blame SE for this speaking as a programmer if you know how to hack and break lines of codes it is fairly easy to back door into a program and modify it to your needs. I'm guessing all the RMTs would really need to get a hold of is your online ID your ISP details and then use what ever program they made to spam buy a certain item on the market boards using the packets that the game send and receives to the client.
Nothing is ever secure once you know the algorithms used even if they used something like SHA-256 to encrypt data it may end up pointless as this type of encryption is now easily crackable if you know what your doing.

Why? There's mercenaries and killers for hire that do what they need to do because they need to do something for a living. There's people who steal, mug, and do much worse to make money. Why is it okay for a criminal to perform criminal acts to make money on the grounds of "They're just trying to make a living." My family used to be very poor. My family isn't poor now. You know why? Hard work. At anytime we could have done it the easy way (criminal activity) but because we have strong morals we never even considered it. They are vermin and I would not care if something bad happened to them. If anything I might celebrate. SE is pursuing legal action. I hope there's jail time and I hope their time in prison is rather unpleasant to say the least.

The solution, of course, is to hire chinese STF members. You can hire them for 2$ an hour, all included and they can work from the same office as the gilsellers they fight. Yay efficiency!

The people pulling the strings are the bad people. However, many RMT people farm gil in "legit" ways (as in, not hacking others or botting) in sweatshops, they don't really have a choice, life in those areas is completely different than what we are used to. Those goldfarmers are victims, just not in the same way as other players.

No. They're just as guilty as the ones pulling the strings. Sorry but joining up with an employer that has you committing crimes does not omit you from said crimes. Selling any gil helps ruin the reputation of the company you're playing the game for. It's vandalism. They're costing the company money. All rights to an mmo belong to the company running said mmo. Selling rights that they do not have is stealing. There's other ways to find work and make money. Hate to say it but we have illegals here who work under privileged and underpaid who actually contribute to society by working at job's that are meaningful (I.E. Construction.)
