To be honest I'm surprised you even know what a pebkac is lol I suppose I'll retract my previous statement if you're willing to admit that :P
And hey, guess what voice apps discussed here aren't SIP?U know normally when someone has a problem i try to help them but since you are deciding to be a rude prick for no reason, and u know everything there is about everything. go educate yourself
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/SIP+security ==>> See Malware injection in a SIP protocol
Good job failing miserably.
I don't need to research things I already know. You did not get a virus from connecting to a Ventrilo server.
everyone and there grandma knows that pebkac is. and i will admit that im an idiot and the spawn of satin for trying to help ppl and providing facts upon facts that what i am talking about is not only possible but does happen on a daily basis.
Hmm again im a idiot but maybe its cause these documents I have showed ppl require you to read? idk, I made a mistake but atleast i am researching how it happend and what exactly it is. Which I have to say is alot better attitude than just calling someone an idiot when you don't know if it is or isn't possible.
A page about injection into SIP servers, of which Ventrilo is NOT one. Again, you fail.
e: and the only thing about injection into SIP I can see is injecting viruses/malware into SIP devices, like softphones. Even more irrelevant than before.
Bud, I'm just giving you a hard time :P Please don't take it the wrong way, I'm only joking.everyone and there grandma knows that pebkac is. and i will admit that im an idiot and the spawn of satin for trying to help ppl and providing facts upon facts that what i am talking about is not only possible but does happen on a daily basis.

SIP servers? SIP is a protocol that VoiP uses on the application layer of the OSI model. its not a server. All VoiP applications use it be it on a cell phone, a lan phone a thin client or any other client they are all related as that one attack can be used on anything, if it can be used on a soft phone it can be used on a VoiP client on the computer as it uses the same methods of encapsulation.
EDIT----------------
Seing as you thought it was a server and didn't know what it was maybe you should try figuring out networks first, I have a old CCENT/CCNA book that I dont need anymore if you want that. It is still fairly new it was revised for the 2012 exams I think.

SIP servers as in VOIP servers using SIP, as opposed to other VOIP-like protocols like Ventrilo, which isn't SIP, making SIP-related links irrelevant.SIP servers? Seriously, you're so bloody ignorant, yet trying to act like you know more than me...
