Why on Earth would SE want to make XIV appeal to players who enjoy a type of game .. an EQ clone as XI was by SE's own admission .. whose time has long gone and now appeals to a small minority of gamers, evidenced by the fact that no such game has bee launched since XI? I've played XI since early EU release ('05) and still play it a bit, but frankly am glad XIV is not much like it in most of the aspects you're promoting.

Clearly you only played XI after the NA release (or even later), so you're comparing apples and oranges when looking at XIV and XI as you first saw it .. in fact most of you people demanding XIV becomes XI-2 totally ignore the reality that was FFXI in '02 and '03, because you never saw it and haven't researched the game's history before the version you started playing: which I expect was after Zilart's release.
Mkay. So I played FF XI from NA release until May of this year.

Yes for the love of all that is good THIS. I thought I just needed to get used to the 2.0 battle system but I can now safely state my opinion that 1.2x was just, pure and simple, far, far superior to 2.0 battle system in every way, form and aspect.
Remember kids, it's always fine to request features from other games as long as we love that future, but if someone else requests something from another game and we don't like that, let's bash them and tell them to go and play that game instead.

Well, i am still at the Point why we cant just have more from XI? no offense at all but it cant be that hard to make Open World Content and the game more FC Friendly? Make the Battlesystem and Gearsystem more Complex instead of linear and boring?
He dont have to Change the Battlesystem at all, if the majority of the Community wishes Pattern Bosses (lets see how it is when we allowed to use things like Deadly Boss Mod to make the game even more easier then it is atm).
Then he atleast should add more Content outside of Dungeons and allow FC's to farm Triggers and Spawn HNM's for Gear and switching in People for the Loots.
in XI you could have so much Tanks,heals,DDs with you in Endgame as you want or had, even they standed outside had a Chance to get something, that was something it was called "Respect and Reward every Member you have" its something what the Most People from Games like WoW dont even know anymore. With the Dungeon/Timer System it already Broke big Linkshells / Free Companys, everyone going his Own Way and building up his Own Static or go with randoms, combined with the RNG Dropsystem in Coil its a headshot (but thats just my mind)

Sorry man but this is really just another "This game should be FFXI-2 thread." no matter how much you attempt to sugar coat it. These type of threads have been done to death and Yoshida and his team have responded several times on why they believe that type of system doesn't work for this game.
Why exactly does the gear system need to be more complex? It doesn't really add any flavor to the game and it is a turn off to people. You believe complexity makes a good game but in actuality it is simplicity that wins. Depend on the content itself to offer the challenge and complexities, not the mechanics itself. It is how Super Mario Bros. became what it is. Simple concepts, difficult challenges.
What is the difference if you fight an HNM in an instance or open world? If anything, instances guarantee no outside interference. Having ideas from a previous MMO is all good assuming you have good logic to back it up on how it would actually improve the game. Unfortunately, many posts here and the hundreds of threads about people wanting FFXI-2 (usually made by the same group of OP's) when you don't realize that most of the time what you are doing is called "destructive criticism".
If people are so determined to make FFXIV more like FFXI just because Seekers ruined the FFXI experience, why are they not on FFXI demanding it be changed back to the old ways? Don't take it out on us, let FFXIV be it's own game. If you don't like it, then go to the FFXI developers and offer your ideas there.

There is no going back to the way FFXI was. That game is old and isn't going to gain hundreds of subs unless its rebuilt. Just like anyone else can make suggestions that are unique or come from another game, we can make suggestions for this game to be more like FFXI.. you don't have to like it, but as much as the world doesn't revolve around us FFXI lovers, it also doesn't revolve around you either.
This isn't FFXI, it's FFXIV. Your dreaming if you think they will implement all of those things when most of those require a complete change in mechanics/code etc and would be FFXIV 3.0 and it would relaunch again.
I got a better idea to Make the FFXI player base happy.
1. Take the entire game of FFXI and update it more polygons, graphics, textures, and move it to directx11 (PS4/PC).
2. Create a new user interface entirely, inventory with bags etc
3. Take everything the windower.net app does and put it in the game (aside from bots/cheats)
4. Go back to making it take longer to level up
5. Call all the current players legacy players and put them on their own servers
6. Have more than one data center and in more than one geographical location
Basically, the same game, just up to dateified.
