No, they don't have any obligation to tell us. But they still could. They don't have any obligation to give us any other information they do on here, but they still do.

There is nothing wrong with requesting that they maybe consider sometimes letting us know why there is maintenance.

My guess is no, as the mere presence of the maint. is what people are ultimately whining about, no matter what reason is given, people would just find other excuse to whine about it some more.

I see that in eve all the time, no matter what the reason is and explanation given by devs for downtimes, people find a reason to whine.

This is common knowledge to people who have played MMOs for a long time. Small patches may also contain bug/hack/exploitation fixes. Telling the general public that such things existed would give certain people the idea to try and imitate those occurrences and also at the same time it could simply be just be literally a maintenance check up, which it pretty much tells you "Maintenance on this date and time".

I do think Square should tell us the lunch schedules of all the employees there. They need to be scheduled in such a way to maximize the developing process. Also, if structured in such a way, maintenance/patches/take your pick would be done while the game is even being played. Yoshi-P please, I want to know everything that goes on in that building.

Here's a summary of the last 2 weeks maintenance, and whether it was scheduled or emergency (based on update information from lodestone).

Nov 8th : Scheduled : 2 hours : Housekeeping
Nov 5th : Scheduled : 4 hours : Addressing server stress
Nov 1st : Scheduled : 2 hours : Housekeeping
Oct 30th : Emergency : 3 hours : Binding coil fixes (with note from Yoshi on changes being implemented)
Oct 28th : Scheduled : 2 hours : Housekeeping (ended 35 minutes early)

Omg another maintenance really late at night! BOO!!! How dare they make maintenance after peak NA times? I think this would translate into early morning in EU as well. So I guess you are just a handful of people whose work schedule sucks. Quick make a petition to change maintenance times into peak NA hours!

Yea its not because of severs all Cluster****** in one place or subpar netcode.
Even if they are telling the truth about the delay they've pretty much established the worst dodge mechanic in mmo history.
Im not mad there is maintenance, but yea its a little much every other day.

WHo cares really.. I rather have them fix the issues then wait 2-3 months for each big patch to fix everything. Besides, its from 9 am till 11 am in the morning for europe.. you should be at work, at school or a sleep during that time!!

Stop trying to make witty comebacks to get likes, really tired of that on these forums, how about this, If you all are so sick of the whiner threads DONT COMIN THEM, since you already know what they are going to be, that's what I REALLY don't get about these threads.
WHiners will always exist get over it, but the ones who have a problem with whiners complaining, yet go out of their way to complain to the complains, really just are laughable.
