Wow sorry about your luck. I have been working to bring up some gathering classes and have notice the same issue in the southern shroud while gathering walnuts. A kedtrap fate starts and I have to start running. Realistically we wouldn't want to be anywhere near a fate as a gathering class. But after waiting an hour for a node to pop-up I would have rage quit for sure. Hope you have better luck next time.
Haha Yeah. I had this once too. I was so annoyed from a FATE that I joined it with my Gardener tool to make it go away faster. I even killed some enemies but after the FATE was over, I also received the same message just like you.
Just makes zero sense to annoy gatherers with them. We don't get experience, GIL or company coins but we are put under stress from FATES and going in hide mode doesn't solve the interruption. I remember the weeks where there was this seasonal event in all zones and how annoyed I was from the hectic background music and the all the time spawning cascadeurs. They were EVERYWWERE where I was harvesting as Gardener. Terrbibly annoying.
The actual solution is a bad one and it really seems, the existence of gatherers was never part of the design process...it is like we are not here.

ZOOM out man!!
it will fix the problem :P
Off topic but: that statement by Yoshida is valid. What he was referring to was people playing with camera zoomed in and having troubles seeing the bomb pattern, not knowing where to run to as a result. I'm getting tired of seeing this repeated over and over again to ridicule them seemingly ignoring the latency issues. It wasn't an excuse to say they don't exist.
If you harvest in an airport approach corridor you got to expect aviation noise.
Either you started harvesting after the event was active for a while and Players were present or you did start not being in stealth. Both your choice.
everyone in this thread just pointed out that
1. you cannot avoid ground circles in stealth mode so you will get interrupted regardless
2. the level 50 nodes only last about 10 minutes which is less than the time of a FATE. You have to either hope the FATE ends before the node disappears or hope that nothing comes near you and does a ground attack while you are in the middle of harvesting the node.
Please don't make ignorant comments when you don't have a single gatherer at 50 thank you. ( ´_ゝ`)
YEs that cursed Return of the King swimsuit FATE. It was right in the middle of the level 30 trees where I would harvest lightning shards/crystals for my weaver. The ground attack was gigantic but again, thankfully these are not disappearing nodes so even if something interrupts you, you just go back and finish. Only thing you may lose is a little bit of GP or something but no problem since 3 other trees around you to start again...unlike the level 50 nodes which have fun waiting another hour!

Indeed, and how are we not doing more damage? As a Botanist I wield an axe and a bloodly great big scythe. As a miner I have a sharp pointed pickaxe and a sledgehammer. As a fisher I have a giant whip made of treated wood with a barbed pointy thing attached. Monsters should run in fear from "gatherers".
Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.
starting to feel you guys...i just start botanist
