Vanya Gear Set...Not As Good As I thought?

as a scholar I wouldn't go with the Vanya set anyway. I just wanted the robe but looking at stats of other items I'm mixing & matching things like Spruce Pattens and DL pants.
I think it's a good idea to check out what stats each gives and which one you feel is better for you. Obviously Mind and Piety are gonna be mostly the same but then you will have difference with things like Spell Speed, Determination and Critical.

For a BLM to notice any significant change to spell speed, we would have to dump everything we had into gear that has high spell speed and it's just not worth it. There's a google doc that shows it somewhere, I don't have it bookmarked on this pc. I'm gonna give Pofo's guide a shot and see where it lands me. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Frankly, the Myth upgrades are better and far cheaper to get than Vanya.

really... you don't want the added crit you could get using vanya robe/hat and crit materia?

Frankly, the Myth upgrades are better and far cheaper to get than Vanya.

Sure, if you've been saving up myths for weeks. Otherwise no, vanya is cheaper to get. All you have to do is buy it or buy some materials and craft it yourself. For AF2 you have to farm 300 myths a week until you have enough (minimum 3 weeks for body or pants), and for allagans well you need to be geared to get into coil in the first place...

I actually plan to invest in having my friend craft me a rose gold circlet instead because its exactly like the vanya head but gives intelligence & determination rather than Piety which I don't need that much of as I'm not a white mage. Instead, I usually try to help with a bit of DPS when no one needs healing (since I'm a scholar).

Also you're making the assumption I'm rich as hell and can afford to buy a bunch of level 3 materias to burn through trying to overmeld them :P
Also on my server I bought my Vanya robe for 275k.
