Sell coke or potash. Once you get enough gil, you can also play the market. Buy low and sell high. Lastly, you can sell materia. No crafting or gathering needed. It's not that hard, but you have to be constantly watching prices of stuff.
Goldsmith Level 20 Levequest making the HQ brass rings for GS spamming it over and over again 99 times makes me a decent living in the game. and selling all my Materia III I SB to my gear helps.
I think that counts as crafting even if it's not endgame crafting... The materia is definitely a good money maker but I usually craft gear to spiritbond rather than buy it, I assume you did the same?
Slight correction. You can't resell ilvl70 crafted gear anymore, assuming you meant to use it and then put it up again on the Market Board. No matter the relation between item level and content level, you'll immediately have any equipped items bound to yourself.
Yeah I guess its comparable if you only get the NQ set. But I have all HQ with over melds, and let me tell you that its very superior to my DL stuff. Plus my head and body arent attached. I can get more out of two pieces over the DL cowl.
I don't see how you can't see that an overmelded HQ Vanya set has better stats.
If you get Vanya Robe + Vanya Hat, both HQ, then you're sitting at exactly the same main attribute as DL Cowls (+32). That allows you to get side stats via materia to really up your abilities (Det affects casting potency, Accuracy is important for Coil, Crit is always great, etc).
It depends on if that's worth it for you. It definitely is an upgrade over DL, but then when you're stockpiling Myths every week and running Coil, you might as well just wait for one of those two pieces to drop and then purchase the other with Myth, which would be even better over Vanya and DL, obviously.
You need ACC for Coil, and you can get enough ACC from the vanya set but not from darklight. There is other gear you can use, but vanya is the best (if not most expensive) way to go.
What else would you spend the gil on? Honestly, there's not much else if you're not into crafting right?
