Are we paying for maintenances?

Do you really want to know my age since you probably believe I'm lying about my degree due to how you laugh at it? Hopefully one day you yourself will strive to achieve a degree in something so that you'll have a better chance at living a good life. I hope this for you...but sometimes it does take a bit of growing up before you can accomplish a goal that you may not have set for yourself this early in your life.

To the people that always make it about money. Nobody wants their money back (I don't think anyways) we want our time lost back. i.e. a 30 day subscription should be 32-34 days depending on maintenance.

Is this accurate? I'm having a serious issue with my account and was advised by SE to make a bug post; however, I get an error to say that my account is either disabled or not activated. I assume it's the latter since I just created the account, but I'm still able to post here but not there.

I in no way implied you were right. I said I agreed with you about what the ToS SHOULD say. Regardless of what we think about it, we still signed with that wonderful little check box. So, /end this discussion. It doesn't matter.

Another next maintenance at the same hours some of us gamers play, in this last 8 days (counting tomorrow) we have had 4 maintenance at the same hours,
I Don't have a problem with the maintenance, i have a problem with the schedule that they use always affecting the same people ALWAYS

To answer the title of this thread,

Yes, you do in fact pay for maintenance on the game. You sub fee isn't just for them to make on money off of, it's for them to work on and maintain the servers. Why anyone is complaining about maintenance is ridiculous. Would you prefer they not fix anything, and just let the game repeatedly break to the point that no one will even play it?

Two month old game is two months old. Lots of things still need work. I would rather they spend those few hours fixing things, then them not fix anything at all.

Like i said, i'm not against maintenance,
What i'm up against is the MICRO maintenance that they do at at the same hours.
By doing this they affect the same people because they use the same hrs.

This week i couldn't play 3 times because of this, and tomorrow is another maintenance at the same schedule and that's another day i wont be able to play.

Besides Some of this micro maintenance thay could just save them so thay do a Big update weekly and be done with it.

But like i said, i feel like i'm paying 15 dlls and half the month i cant play

From what I've seen, it occurs primarily during NA off hours. I don't really pay attention to when it happens, though I generally do wind up getting kicked off in oceanic.

But I have to ask. Are you new to MMO's? Have you never played a game during the first several months of release? If not, get used to it. New games, lots of problems and bug fixes and the like.

And no weekly updates. Not sure what part of "emergency" or "unscheduled" maintenance you don't understand, but it means it wasn't planned and that they ran into something that needs to be fixed ASAP. Would you really rather be playing and running into bugs that render certain parts unplayable than have frequent maintenance during the early stages of a game then constantly? It's a lose lose situation.

TL;DR: It's a new game, get over it. This is standard ESPECIALLY for new MMO's.

No one likes maint. But it's ok. Keep calm. The world isn't ending. And if it is, make sure you have your towel.

Like others have said, yes you do pay for maintenance, updates, and general upkeep of the game and the servers.
Maintenance times will happen when they need to happen. SE does try to make them happen during off hours for the various regions but no matter which way you cut it someone, somewhere, will always be inconvenienced.
That being said, maintenance will happen when you, or me, or Bob over there don't want it to happen. That's just the way it works and you simply have to deal with that.

Seeing as the game relaunched just two months ago you should expect frequent maintenance. Someone who claims to be an "old gamer" should understand this. Unless this is your first MMO release in which case, congrats! Now you know what to expect!
However, you can take heart in knowing that once the game gets stabilized the maintenance times will be more uniform and regular.

No, no one should expect, not even based on past MMORPG releases, maintenance every other day outside of the first couple of weeks, much less months after release. It's the "new" gamer who accepts this as a norm, and really, you shouldn't, because, "lol that's how mmorpgs are at release" is total B.S. [based on actually participating in them].
