Are we paying for maintenances?

Hi i'm an old gamer that so far have started to get disappointed with this game.
I get out of work at 10pm PDT and TBH i can say that 2-3 days out of the 7 days i see
Maintenance,Maintenance,Maintenance
How many things does Square need to fix?
Is not like this game is Large and has so many abilities and jobs, so they have a lot of bugs
Maintenance 3 days ago, 2 days ago and today?
Please Square Sop this, take a FULL DAY A WEEK to fix your things and stop doing this MICRO MAINTENANCES that hurts some of your customers.

BTW can someone please tell me why i can't post in general?
I get error about not being high enough level.
I have 3 lv 50 clases so that's clearly wrong.

2-3 days maintenance? haven't seen this for awhile. the game goes down for a few hrs at most each week right now and they do na/eu, jp and lodestone maintenance all at different times so that what may be confusing you. But the game is only down 3 hrs not 3 days

They DID maintenance on OCT29- then "Emergency" on Oct 30 and now on NOV 1
Like i said this affects some or maybe MANY gamers that have a job in the afternoon and when we get home we can't play
If they did things right in the first place Emergency maintenance shouldn't even exists.
And please Stop defending them as i was attacking them.

I'm only asking for them to take a FULL DAY in order to fix things,
Maybe to you 2-4 hrs are not to much because you may play all day, But i play only play 2-4 hrs a day and this sure affects people like me.

The maintenance is VERY disruptive to people who work full time on the west coast. They need to start the maintenance much later in the day.

On topic. It does seem to me they do an awful lot of maintenance. Most games I have played have a scheduled weekly maintenance and a VERY RARE emergency maintenance. So I do feel the OP has a somewhat valid point, even if he does come off as...... abrasive.

Although I feel the post was made with a certain TONE i can only agree that too much maintenance and not enough game play.

I feel that the people a SE look at NA/EU as doing MX during Tues / Wed at 11pm PST is the best hours to take down the servers. Compared to those that work during the day and go to school these hours seem optimal time for them not to effect the majority of the customers as most should or would be asleep during those hours.

I am on the other fence though. As i work from 10pm - 6am and my off days / weekend actually fall on Tuesday and Wed nights. Could you imagine if SE took Servers down @ 11pm Friday and Saturday night ? My wish would be for them to do maintenance not during my Off days.. Although not fair... i do see a valid reason why they chose the times they do.

Yes you are - your subscription helps fund the upkeep of the servers and the network the game runs on, which includes bug fixing, bug fixing that requires the servers to be taken offline to do.

Besides, SE has a disclaimer on the game's cover (or at least, on 1.0 they did), on this very subject: "We reserve the right to suspend the Service in order to carry out maintenance" and "The publisher reserves the right to terminate the Service at it's sole discretion at any time."

This is in the terms and conditions you agreed to abide by when you signed up. No use complaining about it - it's all there in black and white.

Yes, because letting a holiday extend until scheduled maintenance on Tuesday would've been so detrimental to this game's health. /sarcasm off

Reading the patchnotes so far for every "emergency maintenance" that's occurred I have seen NOTHING listed as a fix that was fixing anything remotely "game-breaking" and couldn't have waited until the next weekly maintenance.

If it were your game time being interrupted every other day you wouldn't be very happy about it. I'm not paying $15 a month to not be able to play for 3 nights of a 7 day week.

Sure, the servers are only down 3 hours at most, but those 3 hours happen to be when the majority of my FC are logging into the game for the first time of the day. The constant UNNECCESSARY server downtimes will ultimately be why we stop paying Squeenix. They could be doing this more intelligently. There is no doubt about that.

Reduce downtimes to once a week, or reduce your player base to only people who work dayshift.

24 hours in a day means that whenever they choose to do the maintenance, means it's someone's play time.
Stop snapping on people, these are listed as emergency fixes. AKA, certainly not planned.
Also, the reason you can't post in general is because you're a tool and therefore not allowed.
