Personal housing is a luxury, not a must. It is also going to be biggest gil dump to remove excess amount of gils out of the game. Game is too early for personal housing, it would only encourages people to buy gils in order to afford it. Be patient.I am interested in what SE's response will be when crafters make truckloads of Gil off the FC housing system. I hope it's not another ban+10% gil reduction on all accounts. Honestly, you just know that people are going to buy gil and crafters are going to receive that gil because housing items are going to be sold at an exorbitant rate.
I don't see logic in demanding 3 mansions. I see logic in "earning access" to 1.
I apologize, I didn't mean to opt out player housing, because I agree there's benefits to them, and I wouldn't mind having my own home. But I'm content with the inn and looking forward to a place with my long time FFXI friends.
It's not impossible to be nice, just... difficult.
I don't think that players in a FC are the minority in this game.
Once a neighbourhood is sold out, a new get created.I do. Do you realize that the quantity of housing is limited by server and that there will be an auction? Are you competitive with those who have RMT monies? Will you be? If not, what would help you to be competitive? Do you feel that some FCs might as a whole decide to invest in RMT to stay relevant? You can lead a horse to water.
Exactly this. It's not the type of auction that you are thinking it is. The plot of land starts at a certain price, and then lowers every 6 hours. You will not be bidding against other people. It is still first come, first serve.
Edit: Example: You have 50 mil, and I only have 1 mil. If the house is 1 mil, and I click to buy it first, then it is mine. It doesn't matter how much more money you have.
Say if I have 5m and the plot that i want to buy cost 4m. Then I can buy the plot with almost all my money or wait a bit to get it for cheaper with the risk that someone else buy it.
In the auction Yoshida talked about in the live letter, the price don't increase over time, it decrease.

This is the exact reason my bf and I and a few friends are lvling up our own little FC. :\
Same, I am disappointed,
personal housing after 6 months is too long,
I am not very interested about the new dungeons.already got tired of raiding in WOW
I'm still debating doing this and have saved up enough gil to be able to do this. But I'm just really hesitant on putting the gil/time/effort into leveling up a FC and buying a FC house when true personal housing is supposedly on the horizon (if they don't end up just going with personal rooming inside FC houses anyway). Seems like putting the cart before the horse, taking a big investment risk without a lot of information, and the wrong reason to start a FC (and what if I find a real FC I want to be a part of sometime during this point?).
It's just... 'eh'. The more I think about it, I'm just going to forget about the housing system for now to see what happens with personal housing if I'm still playing by then.
It is a major let down and I feel some what deceived by SE. 6 more months for player housing? Might come back to the game then.
Deceived by what, exactly? It was known that FC housing would come first and that Player housing would come later. Sorry you didn't ever read anything on the subject.
Yeah it sucks.
Some of us hoped to have our personal houses in the same neighborhood with our FC house.
Now, I'm not sure anyone cares about a FC house anymore based on the latest news.
I don't care for the notion of using live servers to test it, that's what test servers are for. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep looking forward to it.
You should be sorry! They said "player" housing was coming, then they announce it's 6 months away. DECEIVED me they did, deceived me...Deceived by what, exactly? It was known that FC housing would come first and that Player housing would come later. Sorry you didn't ever read anything on the subject.
