From the little info that was actually in that post, it sounded to me like the vast majority of people were unwilling to help him. I totally believe it, I quit WoW after my 30 day trial was up for that very same reason.

This is why I'm wondering on the ilevel 496 thing. If he really was full raid geared AND as bad at the game as he seems to think he is, then he probably wore out any good graces/offers of help while getting carried to a full set of raid gear.

I'm okay with people that don't pick up things as fast as others in MMOs. But if it takes you twice as long to pick up something as the other guy, then understand that you're going to have to spend twice as long on it trying to pick it up.

We see this kind of stuff every day and its disheartening how other players treat others. Just because a run is easier if we have full DL or relic doesn't mean its required and a lot of people are being pushed to the way side. Even in DF people are criticizing others when they have no right to. If they wanted the elite group they should have not used DF and just found a pug run.

The sad thing that i have seen from reading these replies is that the majority of people posting here don't even get it or they don't even care.

I'm not saying he's undergeared, I'm saying he's OVERGEARED. I checked out the ilevel on raid gear for MoP expansion and the ilevel IS 496 for the gear that DROPS from the entry level raid(EoTS?). So he's already run the entry raids so many times that he is in FULL raid gear, all while admittedly doing the dps of a wet noodle. That is where I'm implying his ostracizing has come from, he's already taken advantage of every pug raid organizer on his server.

Chances are this isn't the first person that's tried to help him, he is either someone that is unable or unwilling to improve. My money is on unwilling to put in the time and effort to improve, having encountered similar folks in the past.
