None all FFs are suitable for all those vehicles/mounts. For example, i would not like to see motorcycles or helicopters or similar "high-tech" stuff in FF14 sincerely, because the world is more "medieval" and they would be out of place. So, apparently alot of you have never played Final Fantasy..
For your sake here is a list of other modes of transportation form the Final Fantasy Series other than chocobos..
Magitek Armor
Motor Cycles
Cars
Shoopuff
Airships
Spaceships
Canoes
Sail Boats
Speed Boats
Dragons
Personal Aerial Combat Armor
Trains
Gargant(spider things)
Hovercraft
Snowboard
Submarine
Helicopter
Garleans beg to differ.
I can see it now:
Raid leader: Ok, Duelle, Mcpwnzu and Snuffy, get on the motorcycles. Ownerer, go with group 3 and split the demoli--I mean, magitek armors amongst yourselves. Group 4 will be the people catapulted on the boss. Don't screw up because these vehicles can't be healed. Also, make sure people on the bikes are picking up the catapulted people after the boss shakes them off.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

Actually, I think that would be killer gameplay.Garleans beg to differ.

EDIT: And yeah, lol, I have done that fight in wow too. Haha. But it made me imagine riding mounts up to a boss platform like a plateau at the top of a mesa.
Ironically, for as complex as it looked, it was basically a loot Piñata!
I like vehicle fights! But if they add them, I can see people complaining "I want to use my own abilities!" just like they did in WoW.

Indeed. Few actually appreciated Flame Leviathan for what it was: a chance to do something different in raiding content. For me it meant my gnome warrior was doing something other than tanking. Seeing all the machines the Garleans have, it'd be a crime to NOT make a vehicle-based encounter at some point.
Edit: odd question, but you wouldn't happen to have had a dwarf death knight named Nikita on the sentinels server, would you? >.>
This was because by then people figured out all that effort to get a mount slower than then rentals, had less stamina, cost money to keep summoning and was temperamental was kinda...worthless (or damn close to it).

Actually FFXIV was said to be akin to FFVI - a game that mixed old world magic and new world technology into more of a medieval meets steampunk kind of environment. If that's the case, the Garlean Empire could be compared to the Gestahl Empire and magitek armor is sure to make an appearance.
He sure did. Here's the interview:A long time ago, even before Alpha, Tanaka mentioned something along the lines of Magitek armour might be in the offing - when I eventually saw the opening movie, I guessed that Magitek had been the principle inspiration for the design of the Garlean Empire's kit, but I'd throw a mention about Magitek back in there just to keep the idea in the mix. (Edit: Just spotted Magitek mentioned above. Still, +1)

I'd like to see more aspects from FFVI, as it was my favorite RPG of all time. I definitely think magitek armor has a place in FFXIV.Elmer: It was around they time they were discussing the "high fantasy" aspect of FFXIV, and how it would be a more realistic world than FFXI.
Corinth: Then Tanaka tries to think of a comparison he can make and brings up one of my all-time favorite games, Final Fantasy VI!
Elmer: Yes! Final Fantasy VI.
Corinth: He even says we might see something like Magitek Armor.
Elmer: Yes, that was the part that just made my credit card leap out of the wallet and go, "Where to, sir?" Final Fantasy VI and the possibility of Magitek Armor.
Corinth: Speculation time! Magitek Armor from the distant enemies that fled Eorzea? Or perhaps as one of the methods of transportation?
Elmer: Although, he did make sure to temper his comment with some mumbly qualifiers. "There may, perhaps, be something similar to Magitek Armor possibly, to some extent." and then the interviewer is like "Well, will there be or not?!"
Corinth: I think it's pretty safe to say we'll see something like them in FFXIV.
