haha people always thank me after a run because I always help and explain how dungeon dynamics work. Even got a thank you present once after he found out I was on his serverSo getting MVP as a DPS is only not managable if you are a pumpkin
I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.
He who learns but does not think, is lost. He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger.
The sole DF party member I wish we had MVP for already was actually a Bard that managed to carry myself, a friend and a bewildered tank through Haukke Manor when the rest of us had no clue what we were doing. Most unexpectedly helpful speed-runner ever.
I've seen those too, it just rarely happens unless the DPS is geared beyond the rest of the party. I know from experience that it is 10x harder to earn praise as a DPS than as a healer with equivalent gear.
This is not entirely true for some cases. I recently did an AK run w/ a very geared monk. Thanks to his dmg, we were able to drop demon wall at the half-way point. His damage was also extremely high on the last boss, allowing us to make the kill before the 3rd statue spawned.
The heal and tank did their part, but the run went by fast with the monk in group. If the system existed during that run, I'd cast my vote for him, and I'm sure the healer and tank would as well.
