So question from a non-techy guy: is this Toshiba 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive PS3 compatable?
Also what was that about SSD's bricking PS3s? I cant really afford a new PS3 or afford/justify a PS4 until FFXV and MGSV are out lol.

I haven't heard of SSD's bricking any PS3s personally. As for the Hybrid drive you chose... I'm sorry but i'm not sure how compatible it will be... Theoretically it should work... but not sure the performance differences. So question from a non-techy guy: is this Toshiba 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive PS3 compatable?

Like I stated before... I bought an SSD (not an SSHD like you linked to) because I had future PS4 upgrades in mind.

Sorry to ask this here but you all seem to have some decent SSD knowledge. Bought the PC version of game cuz it ran pretty smooth during betas, but now reality has set in and my poor laptop just don't cut it. It has an SSD but I installed to HD (in my excitement to play didn't even think about it) and now I don't want to spend the time installing again. My question is: Should I just reinstall to SSD? I know my lappy aint enough to play the game perfectly, but will it help enough to be worth it? And before you tell me to buy a new pc, I'm already pricing parts to build a decent 1 but want a temp fix for now. Thanks in advance for you're timely answer(s)![]()
SSHD? Didnt event notice that or know the difference :/ thats how untechy I am when it comes to PCs lol.I haven't heard of SSD's bricking any PS3s personally. As for the Hybrid drive you chose... Thanks for pointing that out though you may have saved me some wasted money there!
I'll do some digging around online and see what comes up price wise, might wait til new year and see if prices drop as I want a brand I trust (Samsung, Seagate usually) or a Toshiba since thats in PS3 apparently.
Yes, there should be no problem, as any SATA 2.5" drive should work. I've put the Seagate 1TB hybrid drive in my PS3 and I'm very happy with it.So question from a non-techy guy: is this Toshiba 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive PS3 compatable?

There was a problem with a firmware update some months ago, which people believe was related to drive size and it was fixed by Sony, so you don't have to worry about that. Any rumors related to this are more likely caused by faulty hard drives.
