That's nine people that have been placed in charge of the existing team.
It's still the same team that messed the game up.
More like, people will be fairly happy with the update as a whole and it'll generally add in a lot of content but like the moronic goldfish they are, will forget it ever happened a week later (ohai 1.17).
How can I look forward to a new patch when all the others promised to have real content but ended up being minor changes that most people do not like? What I want to know is why they didn't ask the community if they wanted mutant mobs the size of King Kong before implementing that? Also, we answered two player polls. None of the questions on those polls have been addressed in any patch.
Why waste customers times and expectations by creating pretend polls that they will not even use to get busy on the work that players really want? How many times are people going to believe SE and then be let down by them when the patch rolls out? What makes me smh is that after the game has been given to Yoshi P, all that has changed about this game is a few minor changes.
This game is in critical condition. It needs content NOW, not later. I'm laughing that people actually think that 1.18 will have any of the stuff that was mention before it rolls out. Expect the worse, don't lie to yourself anymore.

I wanted enemies to increase in size as it was dumb to go around poking ferrets the size of normal ferrets. Every FF, the flora and fauna that counts as monsters is either your size or much larger, unless its a swarm of something/meant for a surprise attack.
And they are working on what players really want. Everyone wanted a battle system change? We're getting that. Everyone agreed to undergo drastic base system changes, and we're getting that. Go look at the majority results of the polls and you can see that they correlate with what we are about to get over summer. Same with UI improvements, and standard stuff like mouse over help.
If you're given something really busted in the beginning, it'll take awhile to straighten up...like a store hampered by mismanagement, finally getting a new manager that people seem to like and knows what he/she is doing. Will it be a miracle patch? No since there never will be one for any game, but it should add a substantial amount of stuff people voted on and things the new staff decided on themselves.
Even in multiple interviews in different regions, Yoshi stated no substantial content would be added until the basis of the new combat system was implemented.

What where they promising for the patches prior? How can I look forward to a new patch when all the others promised to have real content but ended up being minor changes that most people do not like? The biggest thing we voted for was the lack of in game content followed by a change to the battle system. It has been explained that before they can move on to large changes in content, the fundamental change of the battle system must be addressed first. They have been planing dungeons and the new system for a long time and have released many side quests (what we asked to be implemented first) between then and now. Good strong content takes a lot of time to plan and implement and throughout that time Japan has suffered through a plethora of issues that have hurt squares production. As far as being in "critical condition", It doesn't really matter how many people they loose at this point if they can get more people later. It's not like they'll loose any more money from it, they're not charging us.
But good things come to those who wait! Dungeons designed for ranks 30 and 50 are on their way, and 1.18 will see the start of our reworking of the battle system, as we bring in some changes to that area.Hmm, from what I read (and I'm uber carefull with SE now), They just said that the dungeons are on their way. It is not specified that they will be in 1.18 (on their way just means they are on their way but we don't know when). However, it is clearly stated that 1.18 will see the start of the reworking of the battle system. Don't get your expectations to high!
ok, I get it. You think the dev team can do no wrong. Doesn't make everyone else blind to their empty promises. I was once like you, hoping for the best, and not trying to focus on what was wrong. Even when there was so much more wrong with the game than there was good. I have gotten tired of being in denial. No more am I going to raise my hopes up just to continue to get text changes and mobs blown up. They have continued to say that this or that update will have company content, or just content overall. I don't need to list them. Just look at every Directer letter, or every lodestone post. What where they promising for the patches prior?

I thought so too at first, but Starlord corrected me by showing me this:Hmm, from what I read (and I'm uber carefull with SE now), They just said that the dungeons are on their way. No they haven't....you need to go back and read them again.ok, I get it. You think the dev team can do no wrong. Doesn't make everyone else blind to their empty promises. And im still surprised people liked fighting small bugs and animals. Every 3D final fantasy title has had "normal" looking monsters that are either half the same size as an average human, or somewhat bigger. XIV shouldnt have had those small beetles or rats in the first place. Everything in the game now appropriate looks like something that would be threatening enough to fight with weapons.
