Totally only becuase the helmet's not there /sarcasm
As cool as it might look to be fighting with your hair flying around andhow sexy that roe female looks in mid axe swing, in terms of actual practice, fighters in the middle ages typically cared not for looks and would protect whatever parts of their body they could afford to protect.
It is not possible. They would have to redo/modify the model significantly, and that's not going to happen. In fact it rarely happens in general in the industry for such art assets to be significantly modified except to fix bugs like inverted triangles.not possible bla bla bla
If you'd like, replace "not possible" with "not practical" or whatever synonym you like for "existing art assets pretty much never get modified after release". It's not a programming/technical issue its an issue with the art asset.

Yes, totally.
Moot point. This is a FANTASY game, which already has an option to hide helmets. You simply don't have a point. As cool as it might look to be fighting with your hair flying around andhow sexy that roe female looks in mid axe swing, in terms of actual practice, fighters in the middle ages typically cared not for looks and would protect whatever parts of their body they could afford to protect.
You lack the slightest idea on 3D modeling. The 3D model can be modified in several relatively easy ways. The relevant part can be made transparent via textures. It can be removed and added as a second model that swaps in, hell, if they want to do a lazy job they can just drag the vertices inside the neck and the helmet will become perfectly invisible. It is not possible. It's neither impossible or impractical. It's as possible and as practical as the visor toggle, which has in fact been implemented.

Same reason people still defend stupid game development decisions at every chance they get without question.
The option to hide helmets toggles entire helmet armor ITEMS specifically. it doesn't toggle polygons on a body armor. Toggling the display of an entire model is very different from changing part of a model to not appear. You really also don't seem to understand the meaning of the word "moot, as you're misusing it here.Moot point. This is a FANTASY game, which already has an option to hide helmets. I do modeling myself. I don't lack any slight idea on it. This doesn't change the fact that art assets are almost never, ever modified post release of a title. You lack the slightest idea on 3D modeling. The 3D model can be modified in several relatively easy ways.
You're proposing that they make new textures to and map them to the UVs of the helmet part of the model, that's a fair bit of work there. They have an art team that's already likely tied up making new models for later content and you want them to go back and redo the UV mapping and create transparent textures for the model. The command we have in the game toggles whether or not the entire model is displayed. Extra programming would be required to make it do different things depending on the equipped items. What you are proposing is more work than you think. I certainly wouldn't want to do it all after it's all already been finished, QA'd and RTM'd.
SE hire new gear designers plz!!!
the reason why they cant hide heavy darklight helmet is because the main piece you equip is the body NOT THE HELMET. that piece is 1 piece together with body and helm and therefore cannot have helmet off. you would have to have body off to have your head show which I don't think SE will allow. either suck it up or don't buy it and wear iLvL 60 equipment till you get af+1. geez the crying in this thread is over 9000, lol but watch me get flamed for stating facts.
