Sadly it did go downhill for me once you hit 50 on the first character.
When I get online and think I have to level and gear other classes just one thing comes to my mind, and that is: man, I have to wait 1 hour to complete an instance on most of these classes to get them some gear and do it over 50 times...
Or when I start leveling up mining, I literally get this face:
I know these issues could be fixed, it's not just the content, it is simply how dull and repetitive everything is, leveling up as well as gearing up. No challenge on instances, it is pretty much a "oh well we gotta kill them to get to kill the boss then leave... let's do it", kind of dungeons.
I think it's important for you to remember that EVERYTHING that has ever existed can get dull, boring, and repetitive. There are NO exceptions to that concept. Some things take longer to reach that point, and will obviously vary from person to person. but it will eventually get there for the individual. Every single challenging thing you ever come across, will be faceroll once you've done it enough (usually once or twice is all it takes).Sadly it did go downhill for me once you hit 50 on the first character.

It's easy to criticize that things get boring, but that's how our very lives are. We're boring creatures that have to look for entertainment elsewhere. Technology does not exist to create a forever dynamic gaming experience in an MMORPG.
Sorry, WoW kept me going for 8 years some how so the technology most certainly DOES exist to create a wildly popular MMO which can retain players for years that is still going strong to this day. Personally, kind of tired of other devs not even bother trying....
Hey, let's release an MMO with a single 4 man lvl 50 dungeon and one raid that is being done in about an hour. That will keep people going for months, even years! Let's charge 20 bucks a month for that too! /thumbzup.

SE doesn't care if people are logged in 24/7. All SE cares about is how much money they make each month. Same as any other company.
If you are not happy with the game then let your wallet speak for you. And if you are not happy with the game, but you stay subscribed anyway then find something to do ingame or play other games.
It is ok to play other games!
Bolded for... so much wrong, even despite the obvious sarcasm. Also, I don't think you quite understood what the technology statement was... nor does it seem you knew what "forever" and "dynamic" meant. Why not stick to WoW if it's that great to you? Need a change of pace? Got bored maybe? It's kind of the point I was making there...Sorry, WoW kept me going for 8 years some how so the technology most certainly DOES exist to create a wildly popular MMO which can retain players for years that is still going strong to this day. Why don't you give FFXIV 8 years before you measure the level of content between the two. I was there since WoW launch, up until 4 months ago.The content wasn't exactly stellar for the first few months, nor was the stability of the game. I dare say the grinding aspect of that game was significantly longer than XIV at launch.
Yeah, there was more varying levels of dungeons but... what's your point? Why are you discrediting the 8man instances in this game? Let's not forget the primal fights. Trying to make it seem like there's only one existing instance that people do at 50 (even for 4man). And whatever you say bro on finishing all of CoB in 1hr.
Don't compare a game that has had almost 9 years in releasing content, with pre-existing lore and a lengthy fanbase from the WC days, to a game without much history (1.0 wasn't exactly a huge focus of development post-launch) and just recently launched a successful product.
