Nope, just doesn't allow you to do anything. Same thing, different presentation.

It's a pretty arbitrary lock-out put in place to entice players to pay the higher subscription fee as I see no other reason as it just gives the game less content to partake in.

And how could i forget that everything prior to reaching Coil simply ceases to exist. I must have been imagining those crafting and gathering classes, those other Jobs i haven't leveled and other such things. Totally all in my head.
