One of the problems with putting out patch notes ahead of time is this:
Lowered drop rate of item xxx.
...and everyone's going to go farm the item before the patch hits.

    Added the following recipe:
...and everyone's going to stock up on ingredients, killing the economy for said item

Eliminated the sp gain for people that mass spam-heal while never killing a mob.
...and everyone's going to go exploit this "feature" before it gets patched.

Added new r50 weapon that makes old r50 weapon obsolete
...and it effectively makes the "old" r50 weapon obsolete already.

    You get the idea.

Logically, every MMO has a test server or how else would they test changes before pushing out the patches?

They never said and I never said they said. You know damn well that those would be in the game if FFXIV didn't crash and burn like it did. The whole changing directors and direction of the game threw all that crap out the window and I understand that.

Respect for the company Richard, some of US have integrity.
It's 1530 EDT, so you are probably at work posting on internet forums. Ya know, showing integrity.

He means a public test forum, like a crapton of other games. <Removed due to Terms of Service Violation> but most people still realise that XIV is almost a decade behind with some of it's features. It's getting fixed and updated however.

Good point! I remember when certain fish hooks were changed to be synthed to a lower amount, I would have synthed alot of them had I known they were changing. I believe it was Wolf Fang Fish Hooks. sold pretty high too ^^

You still not understanding the point Elexia, people want player test server. Where players can go in and try out the new patch before it comes out and give feedback accordingly. I understand they have their internal test servers and no one is denying that.

    Here's the thing.

When you say a "test server" you have to be specific, because it's common sense MMOs employ test servers. If you mean PLAYER test servers, you have to say as such. I guess this is why, despite living in an english country, many people still prefer their own language over English, since there seems to be a rule that you automatically "know" they mean something other than they say.

No one said they couldn't withhold certain information until the final patch notes hit, 30 min prior to launch of patch. The kind of information that may break an items value or mess up the economy.
