Questions regarding "AF2"/Allagan

Depends on the class. On most classes the AF2 / Allagan have the same primary stats. The only difference is they swap a few sub stats say Accuracy for Determination.

You do not need to do the coil if you are looking for similar gear. However you do if you want BiS.

When you say "BiS", do you mean to say you HAVE to do Coil? And are you referring to the weapons?

BiS = Best in Slot, meaning that all of the gear you can buy with Mythology may not necessarily benefit you better than a combination of it and Allagan gear.

Primary stats between the two are the same, but you have to find the most optimal combination of stats between the two sets of gear for your job to play at peak efficiency. For example, you'll want to be accuracy capped first and foremost, then from there you start working on whichever stats benefit your job the most based on their stat weights. There's a lot of this information posted elsewhere, but each of the secondary stats (crit, determination, spell speed) all have a ratio of effectiveness compared to your main stat, so you just have to come up with the best combination of armor to maximize your DPS.
