    Thanks OP for this post for discussion. Upon thinking about this, i felt like there might be more to dodging Twin Tania's Twister than just moving pre emptively. I went back and thought about FFV where Twin Tania was a boss, and how it went down. While his attacks are different of course in XIV, I think they are somewhat comparable. I remember there was a book you could find and read that would give you hints on beating him, and it said something about summoning Odin before he does 'Gigaflare', or have 'Reflect" (a spell i know we don't have in XIV) or Carbuncle. I believe if you dished out enough damage while he charged 'Gigaflare' it would cancel his cast. I read also that ideally your party would be equipped with Coral Rings to absorb the Water based attacks. Maybe looking back at the old boss, we can figure something out? Just my two cents.

    lol yes what we are missing is an instakill. JUST DEATH TOUCH THE BOSS DUHHHHHRR.

    I sincerely doubt that Twintania's mechanics have anything to do with past FF games, or other games in general. That would be pretty bad design. I also don't think it will have anything to do with a class-specific mechanic, as that would encourage groups not to run Turn 5 without at least <insert class requirements here>. SE already said the current focus on paladin tanks was unintended and they're fixing this in 2.1.

    While you can't rule them out entirely, I think any ideas that require explicit knowledge of prior games, or stacking specific classes, or using a specific class at all, can be striked out on account of "common sense for good game design". Nods are okay-- for example, having to kill Odin before he can cast Zantetsuken is a nod to prior games, but it is not something you need to know the prior games to grasp. Ultima Weapon already introduces people to this concept in story mode, so you can figure it out on Odin without looking at past games.

    Without reading every post in here...has anyone tried to turn your back to her when she starts to cast? May sound dumb but a few bosses (like some in RIFT) have this mechanic.

    I believe the ADS ballast attack does this. He has a cast bar, and once the cast completes then he starts laying down the red aoe circle.

    Maybe that's not the same thing though.

    If you needed to keep adds alive, then how are people living through Twisters at all? This would make a lot more sense if people died to twister 100% of the time.

    Any comments on this strategy?

    "soaking fireballs and giving Twintania stacks of waxen flesh during P2 increases the damage ceiling, size and knockback effects of individual twisters. the less stacks of waxen flesh Twintania recieves, twisters will no longer instagib and instead, deal real damage without the deathly knockbacks and knockups. the Hygeia's damage debuff can be applied to Twintania to burn through P4 (twisters) as soon as possible as the positioning to safely dodge twisters is so wonky as to not get knocked into a wall or in front of Twintania

    Yoshi-P has hinted that bosses in Crystal Tower may have similar design mechanics to those of the game it came from, so I wouldn't be so quick to rule anything out. I mean it is already a boss from another game so ruling it out entirely seems horrifically naive.

    They may not, but they have a way to aim aoe targeted areas on the ground, it would be the same idea. This is easy to test either way.
