    No, no you probably are right and I'm just being kind of bitter.. if anything I'm probably just reacting to the fashion of blaming Tanaka for everything by turning it about and blaming it on Yoichi Wada.

    But that said it really isn't hard - Wada's behavior was just so.. generally questionable and dishonest x.x 'Call of Duty's business model is what the Final Fantasy brand needs!' .. good lord >.> I know I oughtn't blame it all on one fellow, but when he .. and admittedly everyone else, made so little effort to clarify the situation when the community decided that Tanaka was the root of all evil?

    I mean, how many people are aware that a great deal of the engine problems were the responsibility of Yoshinori Kitase's team, who'd been placed under executive pressure to work on other 'higher priority' projects and thus forced to submit an imperfect modification of Crystal Tools? Which itself caused the actual development team under Tanaka to lose months on account of just plain.. not having an engine to work with.

    But you are right, however much I dislike Yoichi Wada I suppose it really isn't right to level all the blame on him, just as it's not fair to jump on the 'lol Tanaka never did anything good EVAR' bandwagon.

    .. So anyway, yes, one of the likes on your post is from me. >.> And I certainly agree completely with that second line.

    the way the camera was set up to be behind your character rather than above it and zoomed out far made it feel like i'm actually fighting and not just playing chess
    The camera is super adjustable. You can adjust the hieght and all kinds of other things in the options. It is very easy to get the camera like it was in 1.0. Don't say you miss things that are still in the game.

    I certainly like the vision of 1.0 more. It's very sad that they chose to re-cut that gem instead of polishing it.
    No, it's not sad at all. That's nostalgia talking, not truth. All 1.0 zones were barren empty spaces for the most part. Yes, it made the world feel bigger, but a bigger world is pointless if there's no purpose to 99% of it. Exploring wasn't even worth it except for a handful of landmarks because one corner of a zone looked the same as another. in 2.0, yes, I can understand people feeling like things are a bit too tight, but that's because everywhere you go you see something different. the tradeoff is worth it.

    On the whole all of ARR's areas are far better, even if there were some nice things in the 1.0 areas.

    I didn't read this entire thread, so forgive me if it was mentioned, but I miss the dreams/nightmares you could have while waking up in your inn.... and the hourglass biscuits and things you would get if you checked the bed.... the little things.

    And I have to agree, I really love crafting in ARR, and had 9,999 shards of most elements from 1.0, which have now dwindled away mostly, and mining and/or gathering them now isn't any fun.

    I do miss the larger areas. In 1.0 I could find a non-crowded areas to craft to limit lag. In 2.0 its almost impossible to find a decent place to craft with no lag. This is why I want to craft in my inn room.

    It's a damn shame. 2.0 feels more lifeless than 1.0... and that's saying a lot. It's missing something.

    this sure had a big impact on me, as i loved 1.0's combat, even with all its problems

    Just went back and looked through about 42TB worth of videos I have on 1.0... it was hard to choose which ones to watch but I found myself looking at the character creation.
    I nearly had a heart attack at one point because I noticed something that I had never noticed before to this point.

    While in an idle stance, your character's eyes make small adjustments to look around, unlike in 2.0 where they just stare blankly ahead 100% of the time.
    The facial expressions also change while idle. You wouldn't notice it unless zoomed in, but every once in a while a natural look just comes over them like they're "thinking" for lack of a better word to describe the expression.

    I never noticed this copying of whole mountains and the same exact canyons. But if this were true that would be very upsetting once it was noticed.

    The quests. Gathering and crafting in particular, they were fun and different. Like BSM/ARM's quest where you went to the island and had earplugs in so that you wouldn't be seduced by Siren, while solving the puzzle without being able to hear what the NPCs said. Now every single quest for every single crafter class is "make an HQ item X".
